Obayashi Corporation Integrates Buildee Construction Management Across All Sites
In a significant move, Obayashi Corporation has decided to roll out the Buildee construction management service developed by Rivasta at all its construction sites. This decision aims to streamline operations and enhance data utilization across both its civil engineering and architectural sectors. Previously, Obayashi utilized multiple services for task coordination, safety documentation management, entry control via facial recognition, and collaboration with the Construction Career Upgrading System (CCUS). However, the fragmentation of data and the burden on users had become pressing issues.
Project Overview
To tackle these challenges, Obayashi will unify its service offerings in the realms of construction management and safety management under the Buildee platform. The company plans to gradually implement specialized tools such as the Buildee Adjustment Meeting, Buildee Labor Safety, and Buildee Entrance and Exit Management, with a target for full integration by the fiscal year 2028.
Reasons for Selection
Obayashi's commitment to a digital transformation strategy, as outlined in its Mid-term Management Plan 2022, underscores this integration. The adoption of Buildee stands out for several reasons:
1.
Extensive Implementation Record: Buildee boasts an impressive track record, having been adopted by around 800 primary contracting companies with a registry of approximately 2 million workers and over 120,000 facial recognition entries across more than 30,000 job sites—making it a leader in the industry.
2.
Comprehensive Support Functions: The platform covers all necessary features for construction and safety management, allowing Obayashi to operate under a single system without needing to rely on multiple services. This includes functionalities for task coordination, labor documentation, entry regulation, and integration with CCUS, enhancing efficiency and data accessibility.
3.
Cost Structure Adapted to Industry Needs: Buildee’s pricing model caters to construction site dynamics by providing free use for partner companies and unlimited user registration, which reduces financial barriers and enhances operational efficiency.
4.
Diverse Solutions for Digital Transformation: Rivasta offers a range of solutions designed to promote construction DX, including digital signage for construction sites, safety documentation management, and innovative point systems for workers, which demonstrate the platform’s commitment to supporting the industry effectively.
5.
Collaborative Partnership Approach: Rivasta emphasizes a partnership model where it actively collaborates with clients, suggesting operational improvements and engaging in joint development of new services, thereby enabling better problem-solving within the construction sector.
Future Endeavors
As Rivasta works closely with Obayashi towards the goal of full site integration by 2028, it will continue to provide comprehensive support from operational design to site implementation. Additionally, Rivasta aims to leverage insights from current users to further enhance its services, striving to increase value for all its clients.
