Exciting Proposal Contest for High Schoolers: EVE Program Seeking Next Generation Leaders

Experience-based High School Proposal Contest EVE Phase 5

This upcoming August 7th and 8th, the EVE program will host an exciting experience-based proposal contest for high school and middle school students in Sumida, Tokyo, themed around "Decentralized Student Dormitories." Run by Loohcs Co., Ltd., led by Yuuki Minei, and ALIVE, a prominent interdisciplinary leadership development project, this contest aims to engage participants in creative thinking about community, education, art, and culture.

What is the EVE Project?

The EVE project is designed to adapt training, which has been successfully executed for 1,876 future leaders from 374 major corporations, into a form accessible to high school and middle school students. It has achieved a 100% satisfaction rate among participants in its initial four phases. Many students have found that involvement in this program significantly benefits their applications for comprehensive selection and recommendation entrance exams, with some succeeding in gaining admission to prestigious Keio University through their experiences during the program.

Three Key Features of EVE

1. Intensive Program That Sparks Real Change
One of the standout aspects of EVE is its unique structure that allows proposals developed during the contest to be genuinely considered for implementation. This active engagement encourages participants to witness tangible impacts of their ideas. Previous initiatives showcased at EVE have led to real societal changes, such as the U18 Art Festival and events connecting students with local elementary schools.

Participant Feedback:
- "The intensive format allowed us to focus and dedicate ourselves fully to the program. It was a fulfilling experience."
- "This helped immensely with my application for my desired school, and I was grateful for the insights gained about my future ambitions."

2. Meaningful Connections with Dedicated Adults
Participants have the unique chance to engage with representatives of various societal organizations who passionately confront substantial social issues, often in challenging circumstances. This exposure not only offers profound insights but also encourages individuals to draw parallels with their own aspirations.

Participant Feedback:
- "Collaborating at the same level as these serious professionals provided an unparalleled experience!"

3. Small Group Dialogues Fostering Team Success
EVE systematically focuses on team dynamics, employing the “iceberg model” to facilitate discussions that enhance teamwork experiences. This approach is suitable for both outgoing and more reserved students, ensuring they can engage meaningfully with team-building processes.

Loohcs and ALIVE's Collaboration
Both organizations have brought forth the EVE initiative, enhancing the significance of participation and transforming the contest into a profound experience for personal growth and development.

Theme and Submission Destination

The theme for this phase, "Yatsushimahana," references the historically significant neighborhoods in northern Sumida. Notably, the Yatsushimahana Cultural Foundation, founded to preserve the region's living culture post the Great Kanto Earthquake and WWII, exemplifies the project’s aim to revitalize community engagement and student involvement in sustaining local culture.

Participants will create a new concept, "Decentralized Student Dormitory," inspired by the Italian "Albergo Diffuso." This model seeks to address abandoned houses in the community, providing an affordable living space that fosters student participation in vibrant local culture while helping local residents connect with the younger generation.
