Student Transportation of America Reports Over $100 Million Growth Thanks to New Contracts and Strategic Acquisitions

Student Transportation of America Experiences Over $100 Million Revenue Growth

Student Transportation of America (STA), a prominent leader in student transportation and fleet services, recently reported an impressive annual revenue growth exceeding $100 million for the current operating year. This achievement can largely be attributed to a combination of significant acquisitions within the student transportation sector, successful contract bids throughout the United States and Canada, and the strategic introduction of industrial busing solutions—a new vertical for the company in the U.S. market. STA has also made its mark by entering new markets in states such as Michigan, Ohio, and Nevada.

"This phase of disciplined growth illustrates STA's unwavering commitment to strategically enhance our transportation services," stated Gene Kowalczewski, CEO of Student Transportation of America. He added, "By broadening our reach into new states and securing additional district contracts while also expanding our expertise in employee and industrial transportation, we are significantly enlarging our service footprint. Ensuring safety and quality in our service delivery remains our utmost priority."

In a concerted effort to extend its operational reach, STA has successfully completed transactions with established local transportation operators in Michigan, Ontario, and New York. Notably, these include:

  • - Cook School Bus Lines, LTD: Located in Eastern Ontario, Cook provides essential student transportation services to Wellington County and nearby communities.

  • - ABC Student Transportation: Based in Detroit, this full-service company caters to local students across Wayne County.

  • - Star Strand Transportation, Inc.: This operator in Troy, New York specializes in both school transportation and charter services within the Capital Region, notably Rensselaer and Albany counties.

  • - Universal Transportation Systems: Based in West Chester Township, Ohio, this company focuses primarily on school transport, non-emergency medical transportation, and charter busing services across areas like Cincinnati, Columbus, and West Chester.

STA is dedicated to maintaining continuity for local customers under these agreements, relying on the resources and expertise of legacy personnel to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.

Additionally, STA has secured several new district contracts for the 2025-2026 school year, including agreements in California, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin, which further bolster its national presence. Over in Canada, Student Transportation of Canada has welcomed new contracts in Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan, enabling it to serve more communities with reliable transportation solutions.

Kowalczewski emphasized, "As we welcome our new clients and expand our operations, our commitment to core values—namely safety, reliability, and fostering robust local relationships—ensures that every community receives tailored, high-quality service."
