Addressing Labor Shortages in Naruto City
In a significant effort to combat labor shortages in the healthcare and childcare sectors,
Otetstabi, a Tokyo-based company known for its unique blend of travel and short-term work opportunities, is teaming up with
Naruto City. The partnership aims to promote migration and increase resident engagement while simultaneously narrowing the gaps in workforce demands within these critical areas.
The New Initiative
Following the recent signing of a collaboration agreement, Otetstabi and Naruto City have launched a pioneering program called the
Welfare Internship. This initiative is primarily designed to facilitate the
UIJ turn, a concept that encourages people from urban areas to relocate to regional communities.
The first phase of this program will see collaboration with the
Tokushima Prefectural Welfare Human Resources Center and the
Tokushima Nurses Association. This partnership aims to place interns in various welfare-related workplaces that are currently facing severe staffing shortages, particularly in healthcare, childcare, and nursing sectors. While Otetstabi has traditionally focused on matching individuals with opportunities in agriculture and tourism, this venture represents a new frontier for the company.
Background of the Initiative
The necessity for this program stems from the increasing demand for skilled labor in rural areas. Many regions, including Naruto City, are struggling to attract potential workers interested in living and working in these locales. Otetstabi has emerged as a solution to bridge this gap, serving as a platform that connects local businesses in need of help with travelers seeking rewarding experiences in beautiful regional settings.
The objective of this partnership is to unlock new opportunities in the welfare sector and set a precedent for future collaborations that could extend to industries such as manufacturing and services.
