LILYSILK Unveils 2024 Impact Report on World Environment Day to Highlight Sustainable Practices

LILYSILK's Sustainability Journey: A 2024 Impact Report

On June 5, 2025, coinciding with World Environment Day, LILYSILK, recognized globally as a premier silk brand, unveiled its much-anticipated 2024 Impact Report. This marks a significant milestone, demonstrating the brand's year-over-year commitment to sustainability and responsible production.

Zero Waste Movement

At the heart of LILYSILK’s sustainability efforts is the Zero Waste Movement, built upon three foundational principles: Zero Inventory, Zero Waste, and Zero Scraps.

Zero Inventory

LILYSILK operates a made-to-order production model that crafts garments within a brisk 48-hour window, followed by delivery within 2-3 days. This efficient process ensures that waste is kept to an absolute minimum by creating only the items needed, thereby eliminating excess inventory and reducing environmental impact.

Zero Waste

The brand’s innovative approach extends to transforming surplus fabric into a variety of products. In 2024 alone, LILYSILK successfully repurposed excess materials into:
  • - 7,323 patchwork pillowcases,
  • - 29,048 hair ties,
  • - 15,410 eye masks.
Furthermore, an impressive over 5 tons of leftover materials were shredded and converted into sustainable fabrics, including silk-wool blends earmarked for future collections.

Zero Scraps

In partnership with TerraCycle®, LILYSILK launched a recycling initiative that encourages customers to return their used silk products. In 2024, this program successfully diverted over 490 pounds of material from landfills. To date, the company has recycled more than 2,690 items, effectively keeping unusable silk textiles out of landfills and incineration processes.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

The commitment to sustainability doesn't stop at product creation. In 2024, LILYSILK achieved a remarkable 99% of degradable outer packaging, with an ambitious goal to reach 100% by 2026. Many of their materials are now certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®), signifying their dedication to environmentally sound packaging practices.

Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Standards

Part of LILYSILK’s mission involves maintaining ethical supplier partnerships. The brand adheres to strict evaluation protocols, with suppliers required to possess globally recognized certifications, including:
  • - Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS),
  • - Responsible Wool Standard (RWS),
  • - Good Cashmere Standard (GCS),
  • - OEKO-TEX certification.
These rigorous standards ensure that the raw materials utilized are not only ethically sourced but also meet high environmental and social benchmarks.

A Vision for the Future

David Wang, CEO of LILYSILK, articulated the brand's forward-looking vision for sustainability, stating, “For World Environment Day 2025, we are proud to share our progress toward a more sustainable future. Our mission to inspire people to Live Spectacularly goes hand in hand with our commitment to sustainability.”

Wang emphasized that by reducing waste, refining supply chains, and cultivating partnerships that align with LILYSILK's values, the company aims to foster a positive impact on both customers and the planet.

LILYSILK’s 2024 Impact Report not only reinforces its status as a leader in sustainability within the fashion industry but also empowers consumers to make conscientious choices, offering them high-quality and eco-conscious products.
