OEMs can immediately kick off software development without waiting for physical hardware, enabling simultaneous development and testing workflows. The VHU also seamlessly integrates with the Mapbox Console, facilitating efficient performance and regression testing.

Additionally, the software built within the VHU is fully compatible with target hardware, simplifying the continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes. Developers can generate and manage VHUs directly from the Mapbox Console, enhancing their ability to validate design changes and measure performance effectively. For instance, introducing a new navigation style in the VHU can be done with a single click, significantly boosting productivity.

What’s remarkable about this development is the utilization of Arm® Neoverse™ servers for powering the virtual platforms. Mapbox leverages Arm-native hardware virtualization to conduct rapid simulations, making it possible to deploy applications on virtual prototypes of next-gen SoCs.
