PM-International Increases Child Sponsorship to 8,000 with €2.88 Million Donation
In a notable move to support vulnerable children, PM-International has expanded its child sponsorship initiative to cover 8,000 children, fueled by a generous donation amounting to €2.88 million. This decision comes at a crucial time as global support for children in need is rapidly declining. According to recent data from World Vision, funding for child welfare has plummeted, with governments and institutions around the world cutting financial assistance by a staggering $16.3 billion. This has led to significant challenges in accessing essentials such as food, healthcare, and education for millions of at-risk children.
PM-International is taking proactive steps to counter this trend through its foundation, PM We Care. As part of its commitment, the organization will be bolstering its collaboration with World Vision, ensuring that 1,400 additional children join the existing sponsorship program, ultimately increasing the number of sponsored children from 6,600 to 8,000. This expansion not only reflects PM-International’s dedication to child welfare but also signifies an increase in its annual donation to €2.88 million, aiming to enhance long-term development programs in the regions they operate in.
Oliver Müller, who manages the collaboration with World Vision Germany, highlighted the growing challenges faced by the humanitarian sector, citing a decrease of 17% in donations. He stressed that beyond statistics, the mission is fundamentally about assisting real people. Müller expressed gratitude for the partnership with PM-International, emphasizing that their support enables continued aid and hope for thousands in need.
For over two decades, PM-International and its nutritional supplement and cosmetic brand FitLine have partnered with World Vision, contributing to eight community projects that aim to improve access to education, healthcare, potable water, and income opportunities. These initiatives are designed not merely for immediate relief but for fostering sustainable improvements in the lives of families.
Philanthropic ambassador Vicki Sorg shared her thoughts, stating, "We cannot fully comprehend what these children and their families endure, or the significant impact our support has on their daily lives. Each FitLine product purchased contributes an hour of support to a sponsored child. Our Team Partners and customers are vital allies, and we aim to persist in our contributions to World Vision."
With this latest initiative, PM-International is on a path toward its ambitious goal of supporting a total of 10,000 sponsored children, illustrating a robust commitment to positive global change. Images related to this initiative are accessible through related public relations channels.
