Smartee Denti-Technology Celebrates European Milestone at Its First Regional Summit in Mallorca

Smartee Denti-Technology's Landmark European Summit 2026

On September 19, 2026, Smartee Denti-Technology concluded its first-ever European Summit in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. This groundbreaking event marked a significant milestone as the company's initial large-scale scientific summit outside of China, bringing together nearly 300 orthodontists and dentists from 27 different countries.

The two-day summit served as a platform for in-depth discussions on various critical topics in orthodontics, including the GS Mandibular Repositioning Technology, complex malocclusions, early orthodontic treatment, dental sleep medicine, and airway management. Additionally, two new products were unveiled: Smartee SA/SA Plus and Smartee AG KIDS, specifically designed for international markets.

On the opening day, Junfeng Yao, the founder and CEO of Smartee, emphasized the company's commitment to integrating artificial intelligence in their products and internal workflows to enhance clinical support for orthodontal practitioners. The summit's agenda included presentations from speakers across Europe and Asia, showcasing clinical cases, research developments, and treatment options pertinent to diverse areas of orthodontic practice.

Insights into GS Mandibular Repositioning Technology

The first day focused on the GS Mandibular Repositioning Technology and its clinical applications in addressing malocclusions that are associated with mandibular deviations. Professor Gang Shen from Taikang ByBo Dental, who leads the GS research and development at Smartee, delivered an inspiring keynote about the system's development and clinical philosophy. Alongside Dr. Xingxing Wang, the clinical medical director at Smartee, they presented the foundational principles of mandibular repositioning using a three-dimensional perspective.

Other notable speakers included Professor Thomas Felkai from Semmelweis University in Hungary, Dr. Katarzyna Łoza-Sołtyk, president of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics, and Dr. Pratik Sharma, chair of the Orthodontics Advisory Board at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Clinical cases discussed by these experts featured diagnoses, treatment goals, and evaluations concerning mandibular positioning and various types of malocclusions, including Class II malocclusion in adults and asymmetric cases.

After the summit, Professor Shen underlined the importance of appropriate patient selection for successful mandibular repositioning. He stated, "The position of the mandible must be assessed in the sagittal, vertical, and transverse planes. The first step involves diagnosing any abnormal positioning of the mandible and subsequently assessing the deviation direction from a three-dimensional perspective."

Expanding Discussions on Early Orthodontic Treatment and Dental Sleep Medicine

The second day broadened the scope towards early orthodontic treatment and clinical management strategies for growing patients as well as addressing obstructive sleep apnea and airway management. Session highlights included topics related to treatment timing, interceptive treatment, craniofacial growth assessment, and orofacial myofunctional therapy, offering insights into biological foundations, clinical decision-making, and treatment approaches.

Prominent discussions featured figures such as Dr. Vicente Torres, visiting professor of orthodontics at the University of Valencia, and Professor Jane Shi, a specialist in orofacial myofunctional therapy. They provided valuable context on assessing growth stage, breathing patterns, and orofacial function in a more comprehensive approach to patient evaluation.

Afternoon sessions delved into dental sleep medicine and airway management issues. Participants heard from experts like Professor Antonio Gracco, director of the postgraduate school for orthodontics at the University of Padua, and Dr. Yue Weng Cheu, clinical director at DP Dental in Singapore. Their discussions revolved around scientific advancements in dental sleep medicine and the connection between pediatric airway assessments and craniofacial development.

Launching New Products: Smartee SA/SA Plus and AG KIDS

A crucial aspect of the summit was the international launch of two innovative Smartee product systems - Smartee SA/SA Plus, designed to meet clinical needs related to primary snoring and mild to moderately severe obstructive sleep apnea, and Smartee AG KIDS, aimed at craniofacial growth management for children aged 3 to 16.

Truly, the event represented an exceptional step in fostering global academic exchange within the orthodontic community. As Smartee transitions from solely introducing products and technologies to engaging in interdisciplinary clinical discussions, the future looks bright for ongoing international collaboration, medical advancements, and continuous education in these critical fields.

In summary, the summit in Mallorca stands as a testament to Smartee’s dedication to advancing orthodontics on a global scale. Following this successful event, plans are underway for the next European summit scheduled for Rome in 2027, further extending the platform for professional development and research excellence.
