A Revolutionary Immersive Experience in Hotels
In an exciting convergence of technology and entertainment, CLIPS Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has launched a pioneering initiative in collaboration with MocchiHack Co., Ltd. and the Kansai Innovation Center (MUIC Kansai). Starting from July 19, 2025, the project introduces immersive sound attractions directly within hotel rooms, allowing guests to experience entertainment in a whole new way.
Utilizing MocchiHack's cutting-edge 3D immersive sound solution, known as
'imavo', hotel guests can now enjoy a transformed auditory adventure right from their smartphones, paired with basic headphones. This unique concept facilitates a seamless dive into rich audio and video narratives, enhancing the guest's overall hotel experience.
The Power of AI in Sound Design
Element to this immersive experience is the incorporation of AI-driven soundscapes designed by WIT Collective LLC, led by CEO Satoshi Oshima. This innovative collaboration aims to stir the emotions of participants through immersive storytelling and sound effects that elevate the auditory realism of the imavo technology, offering an unforgettable atmosphere.
Guests can now experience sound in such an intimate and realistic way that the auditory cues can evoke emotions and feelings as if the speaker is present right beside them. This cutting-edge auditory experience differs from traditional VOD or smartphone videos as it immerses guests in a dimension that simply cannot be replicated elsewhere, transforming the way they enjoy their hotel stay.
Featured Experience: Immersive Sound Novel with Yokai Theme
As part of the initial rollout, a collaborative immersive sound novel game titled '
Strange Room' has been developed alongside the popular Japanese storyteller, Ayumu Shirotani. This unique game format features two modes: one allows users to feel as if they have stepped into an alternate world, while the other provides an entirely immersive experience devoid of choices, making the narrative flow more seamlessly.
Catering to both longtime enthusiasts of Japanese
kaidan (ghost stories) and newcomers, this experience promises a fresh and frightening adventure. It will also feature an English subtitled version to make it accessible to inbound tourists eager to experience Japan’s rich horror storytelling tradition.
Collaborating Hotels for an Exclusive Experience
The immersive sound attraction will be available at select hotels, allowing guests to partake in this captivating experience for free. Here’s a quick look at the participating hotels:
- - Sunshine City Prince Hotel: 2 rooms available from July 19 to October 19.
- - Fuji Mishima Tokyu Hotel: All rooms, starting in 2–3 months after content preparation.
- - Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu: All rooms available in 2–3 months after final setup.
- - Additional locations include R Hotels Inn Asahikawa and Hostel Inn Kyoto Gion.
This groundbreaking project aims not only to captivate hotel guests but also to redefine the potential of hotel-stay experiences, allowing for significant collaboration opportunities between the hospitality industry and various content IPs such as YouTube influencers, VTubers, and more.
