On April 16, 2026, prominent figures from both nations visited the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing. Among them were Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Ngo Phuong Ly, spouse of Vietnam’s General Secretary Ngô Phuòng Ly. Their tour of the state-of-the-art facility underscored the commitment of both governments to furthering their cultural exchange initiatives.

Supervised by the NCPA, the visit allowed these leaders to witness various artistic projects in the pipeline, including a Chinese ethnic dance performance and a choir recording. The interaction highlighted the importance of cultural engagement in fostering deeper relationships between countries.

Peng Liyuan emphasized the historical connections between China and Vietnam, remarking that the two nations, bound by mountains and rivers, share similar cultural heritages that contribute to mutual respect and friendship. Her hope is that cultural institutions and artists from both sides will continue to collaborate, leveraging innovative means to strengthen ties.
