TCL Commemorates Olympic Day with New Donor Wall at Olympic Museum
On June 22, 2025, TCL celebrated its inaugural global Olympic Day as a World Olympic Partner, receiving a prestigious honor at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. During this ceremony, TCL's contribution of innovative smart devices, including LED displays and smart interactive tablets, was recognized as it was added to the museum's Donor Wall.
The event was attended by prominent figures from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), including President Thomas Bach, newly elected President Kirsty Coventry, and Angelita Teo, Director of the Olympic Museum. Kevin Wang, TCL's Chief Operating Officer, revealed a commemorative marble plaque engraved with TCL's logo, making it a permanent fixture that honors organizations with significant contributions to the Olympic Museum.
In his speech, Kevin Wang emphasized the alignment of TCL's commitment to innovation with the Olympic spirit of 'Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together.' He stated, "Together, we strive to inspire people worldwide, encouraging them to dare to be extraordinary." He also expressed hopes that TCL's technological enhancements to the Olympic Museum would enrich visitors' experiences, immersing them in the rich legacy of the Olympic Games.
This inauguration follows TCL's recent establishment as the newest World Olympic Partner. The Olympic Day celebrations highlight TCL's dedication to promoting sports culture, sustainable development, and technological innovation within the Olympic movement. In alignment with the IOC's Olympic AI Agenda, TCL aims to enhance experiences for athletes and fans alike. This includes creating “Athlete Moments” that connect competitors with their loved ones during events, and elevating experiences in Olympic venues.
President Thomas Bach acknowledged the significance of TCL's partnership, stating, "Our partnership has started off exceptionally well. Our founder, Pierre de Coubertin, stated that Olympism is a way of life that combines sport and culture. Today, you join the Olympic Museum, supporting museums worldwide. With today’s unveiling of the commemorative plaque, you are in excellent company. Thank you, TCL, and we look forward to a great collaboration together."
Furthering this collaboration, TCL was invited to witness Kirsty Coventry's historic inauguration as the IOC's new President on June 23, a landmark event in Olympic history. As the first woman and the first African to hold this position, Coventry represents a new chapter in the Olympic Movement. This leadership echoes TCL’s 'TCLforHer' initiative, which advocates for the visibility and empowerment of women globally through technology and culture.
"It is a true honor to be here with you all today," exclaimed Kirsty Coventry. "To the TCL family, thank you for this incredible donation. You told me that moving quickly is part of TCL's spirit, and that certainly resonates with the DNA of the Olympic Movement. We hope to move even faster with you in the future, as President Bach mentioned, 'the sky is the limit.'"
In order to connect with audiences worldwide, TCL has launched its first global campaign for Olympic Day, inspired by the IOC’s 'Let’s Move' initiative. This campaign encourages individuals to be active and move together. Featuring a dynamic video, it bridges two future Olympic host cities through TCL's visualization technology. The initiative includes simultaneous flash mob performances by the Urban Theory Dance Crew at Milan Cathedral and TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, merging the cultural significance of these locations through innovative street dance and expressive storytelling.
This activation is an extension of TCL's 'TCLArt' initiative, celebrating artists' power to evoke emotions and shape the future while blurring the lines between the real and virtual worlds. It inspires individuals to come together and embrace the joy of physical activity.
As the world gears up for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, TCL intends to build on the momentum established by this campaign, leveraging its 30 years of heritage in sports to collaborate with the IOC to foster cultural engagement through cutting-edge technology while advancing the Olympic Movement.
