A brand-new story-driven negotiation game, "Disguise: The Stolen Detective," is set to launch on August 8, 2025. Developed by Mistyve Co., based in Tokyo's Minato ward, this innovative game promises an engaging participatory experience in the world of interactive theater.

Mistyve, which operates the specialized murder mystery store Rabbithole, is known for creating immersive narratives that captivate audiences. The store has become a hub not only for murder mystery enthusiasts but also for those who enjoy thematic dining experiences at their other establishment, PIXIEDUST.

The murder mystery genre has surged in popularity in China, where it involves players embodying characters from a script, which details backstories and actions taken during pivotal events. Participants engage in dialogue to uncover the truth behind a fictional crime, allowing them to step into the shoes of detectives in a captivating narrative experience.

Collaborating with Top Creators


The creative direction of "Disguise: The Stolen Detective" features renowned game designer Kengo Otsuka, known for the two-player board game Sarau Abaku. Joining him are script supervisor Takeshi Yamazaki, known for his work on the Ace Attorney series, and character illustrator Tatsuro Iwamoto, also from the Ace Attorney franchise, enhancing the game's narrative and visual appeal. Additionally, notable voice actors Mutsu and Nanako bring pivotal characters to life within this intricate storyline.

A Unique Gameplay Experience


"Disguise: The Stolen Detective" set itself apart by combining elements of negotiation with a murder mystery. Unlike conventional games, players will engage in dialogues and negotiations to collect necessary information while portraying their respective characters. The design supports an immersive role-playing atmosphere, allowing players to delve deeply into the plot while strategizing to reveal mysteries and navigate plots.

During the game, players are encouraged to act as detectives, gathering clues and forming alliances to emerge victorious. This negotiation component offers a unique twist, encouraging players to not just compete but collaborate to uncover layered narratives.

Introduction to the Story


Set against the backdrop of a mysterious heist conducted by the elusive thief Croissant, players are prompted to uncover hidden treasures aboard a luxurious airship. Croissant's challenge entices renowned detectives worldwide, although one iconic figure, Shalok Himsubi, is notably missing as he is trapped and unable to join the fray. As a player, you step into the shoes of a detective, determining who among the array of unique characters can best unveil the truth. Gameplay is a test of wits, intelligence, and strategic negotiation, with each player striving to prove themselves as the finest investigator.

Players: 8 to 10 participants (For private performances, notify in advance for participant numbers)

  • - Weekdays: 4,500 yen per person (including tax)
  • - Weekends, holidays, and peak times: 5,000 yen per person (including tax)
For private performances, the cost is for 10 participants regardless of the actual number.
