LX Pantos Completes Major Cross-Border Defense Logistics Project for Advanced Weaponry

LX Pantos Accomplishes Complex Defense Logistics Project for Advanced Weaponry

On September 8, 2026, LX Pantos, a leading logistics provider based in South Korea, announced the successful completion of a sophisticated cross-border logistics operation focusing on advanced weaponry. This project involved the transportation of air-to-air missiles (AAM) from France to South Korea as part of the Marine Corps' Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH) program. The initiative was executed under the supervision of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) and carried out in partnership with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI).

The air-to-air missiles, supplied by a European defense technology provider, were transported via a charter flight from Châteauroux airport in France to Incheon International Airport in Korea. After arriving in Korea, the missiles were delivered to the Marine Corps unit in Pohang by road. In an effort to ensure safety and security, LX Pantos operated a special charter flight that transported the missiles as the sole cargo. The shipment was classified as explosives under Class 1.2 and Compatibility Group E, necessitating the highest level of security precautions.

Transporting hazardous materials such as defense items requires specialized operations that comply with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations regarding dangerous goods, as well as pertinent national aviation security requirements. LX Pantos secured overflight permits from 14 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and coordinated multimodal transport leveraging its extensive global network, which includes subsidiaries across Europe.

Since receiving an ‘excellent’ security rating from the Korean Defense Intelligence Command in 2024, LX Pantos has been actively expanding its business in defense logistics. The company has attained level 3 (AL3) status in the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX), showcasing its capabilities to meet stringent global information security demands.

A representative from LX Pantos emphasized that this project demonstrated the company's advanced expertise in security, protection, and logistics. The firm is committed to continually supporting global customers in the defense sector and enhancing its role within the defense logistics market.
