Garmin Introduces G2000 PRIME: A Revolution in Flight Deck Technology for Modern Aircraft

Garmin Unveils G2000 PRIME Integrated Flight Deck

On July 16, 2026, Garmin International announced the introduction of the G2000 PRIME, a state-of-the-art integrated flight deck designed specifically for high-performance Class I and II piston and electric aircraft. Building on the innovative features of the G3000 PRIME flight deck, the G2000 PRIME enhances the flying experience with sophisticated touchscreen displays and a focus on safety and efficiency.

A Leap in Avionics Technology

Garmin's G2000 PRIME brings turbine-class avionics technology into the world of general aviation. This flight deck is engineered to meet the evolving needs of pilots and aircraft manufacturers, emphasizing intuitive operation and advanced functionalities. Phil Straub, Garmin's Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Aviation, noted the enthusiastic response to previous PRIME flight decks and the company's commitment to making advanced avionics accessible to a broader range of aircraft.

Exceptional Display Features

The G2000 PRIME features stunning 14-inch touchscreen primary display units (PDUs) that offer edge-to-edge, sunlight-readable glass. This design enhances cockpit aesthetics and functionality, providing an immersive user experience. With quadrupled memory and gigabit system connectivity up to 100 times faster than earlier versions, the device's processing capabilities have also seen significant advancements.

The PDU's high-resolution displays are complemented by secondary display units (SDUs), which provide expanded data entry options and multifunctional applications. Remarkably, these SDUs can serve as integrated standby flight instruments, streamlining cockpit design.

Modern User Interface and Enhanced Interaction

The G2000 PRIME sets a new standard for user interaction, featuring an advanced multi-touch interface capable of recognizing up to ten simultaneous inputs. This allows pilots to operate the display effortlessly, with an experience characterized by responsive animations and intuitive layouts. The modern user interface design combines familiar elements with an appealing contemporary look, ensuring clarity while maximizing situational awareness.

Advanced Flight Management Tools

Garmin’s flight management system within the G2000 PRIME includes upgraded tools designed for enhanced operational safety. The Modified Flight Plan functionality enables side-by-side graphical previews of flight plan alterations. In addition, an Emergency Return function can be set up during initialization to assist pilots in emergencies shortly after take-off.

Moreover, Taxiway Routing technology has been improved to provide automated navigational guidance, ensuring a smoother ground experience for pilots.
