Okayama University's Alumni Meeting in the Kanto Region



On February 28, 2025, Okayama University's Alumni Association held the fourth meeting of the 2026 fiscal year in Tokyo. This gathering brought together alumni from various faculties, providing an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing experiences among graduates. The event took place at the Okayama and Tottori Prefectures' antenna shop, known as "Tottori Okayama Shinbashikan" in Minato-ku, Tokyo.

The meeting, attended by 30 alumni, was hosted by Keisuke Konaga, the president of the Okayama University Alumni Association and a graduate of the Faculty of Law. Shinjo Hasegawa, also a graduate from the Faculty of Law, served as the moderator for the event. The meeting included a presentation by Nobuhito Sato, the Vice Director and Vice President of the university, who shared updates about the institution's recent developments, utilizing the newsletter "Ichou Namiki" and "Okayama University Monthly Digest."

After the updates, alumni took turns to share their recent activities and engage in vibrant discussions. Konaga concluded the meeting by inspiring attendees with insights from his career journey, emphasizing the importance of staying connected with current students and other stakeholders to further elevate the pride and affection for Okayama University.

The gathering reinforced the bonds between alumni, highlighting the university's commitment to fostering a collaborative environment. Every graduate is welcome to join these meetings, regardless of their faculty or department.

The next meeting is scheduled for May 20, 2025, at the same venue, and interested alumni are encouraged to reach out for more details on participation.

President Nasu's Thoughts



In a statement regarding this year's meeting, President Yasutomo Nasu expressed regret over missing the event due to another commitment. He stated that he cherishes the opportunity to participate and feel the love alumni have for Okayama University. He acknowledged the valuable feedback and ideas alumni provide, which serve to energize the institution.

Nasu also shared that the university has been funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as part of the "Regional Core and Characteristic Research University Promotion Project (J-PEAKS)." This initiative is aimed at evolving the university to meet its visionary goals and that alumni are integral to this evolution.

Moving forward, President Nasu looks forward to closely collaborating with alumni in shaping a dynamic future for Okayama University.
