DFRobot Showcases Innovative AI and Data Science Workshop at Chiang Mai University's Education Conference

DFRobot at Chiang Mai University’s Education Innovation Conference

On July 4, 2025, DFRobot proudly participated in the 4th National and 2nd International Conference on Education, known as THE NICE EDU CMU 2025, held at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. This year's conference theme, "Innovative Learning and Emerging Technologies Transforming Education for the Future," drew an impressive crowd of educators, scholars, and graduate students worldwide to discuss advancements and trends shaping the educational landscape.

Conference Highlights

The event featured key sessions focusing on various pivotal topics such as:
  • - Innovation and Technology for Teaching and Learning
  • - Future Skills for Future Education
  • - Inclusive Education

These discussions emphasized global advancements in education and how they can be harnessed to elevate teaching methods and learning experiences.

DFRobot Workshop

One of the significant highlights of DFRobot's involvement was the workshop held on July 5 at the Chiang Mai University Demonstration School (CMUD). Titled "Workshop with Data Science Discuss about STEM Tools Collaboration," it attracted 43 students along with educators and pre-service teachers. This interactive session aimed to highlight the role of AI and data science in education, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

During the workshop, DFRobot introduced its state-of-the-art UNIHIKER K10 AI Coding Board. This innovative device is specifically designed for K12 students and beginners, showcasing a unique blend of vision AI, voice control, and TinyML machine learning capabilities within a compact tablet-like form.

Features of the UNIHIKER K10

The UNIHIKER K10 is equipped with impressive features, including:
  • - A 2.8-inch color display
  • - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • - Various sensors, comprising a 2MP camera, microphone, speaker, RGB lighting, and multiple environmental detectors.

During the presentation, DFRobot effectively demonstrated the K10’s advanced voice and image recognition capabilities. They also showcased how the device could be integrated with the XiaoZhi AI-ESP32 firmware, turning the K10 into a conversational AI chatbot capable of communicating fluently in Thai.

Outcomes and Participant Engagement

The hands-on activities conducted during the workshop were a hit, enabling teachers and students to enhance their creativity and problem-solving skills. Participants were encouraged to explore how AI could be leveraged to address real-world challenges, thus facilitating a practical understanding of modern technology's impact on education.

In addition to the K10, DFRobot unveiled a broader initiative titled "Empowering the Future Learning with Artificial Intelligence Solutions." This program includes the UNIHIKER M10, a user-friendly single-board computer making Python programming accessible, allowing both students and teachers to embark on coding swiftly. Furthermore, the microMaqueen Plus V3 was introduced as a sophisticated STEAM educational robot, ideal for cultivating hands-on robotics education among primary and secondary school students.

Feedback and Future Directions

Sandy Zhang, DFRobot's Chief Marketing Officer, remarked on the enthusiastic response from attendees. "Our interactive presentations and engaging activities have generated considerable excitement among both educators and students to harness AI and programming in educational contexts," she stated. This initiative underscores DFRobot’s commitment to enhancing educational experiences through innovative technology.

As the workshop concluded, participants left with valuable insights on integrating AI and data science into their learning environments, paving the way for a future where technology plays an integral role in education.
