Proya Cosmetics Launches New "Europe Innovation Center" Laboratory in France to Boost Research
On October 13, 2026, Proya Cosmetics unveiled its latest innovation hub, the "Europe Innovation Center" laboratory, located in Suresnes, France. This opening follows the establishment of the Proya Europe Innovation Center in La Défense, Paris, in 2024. The new lab marks a significant step for the company as it continues to strengthen its international presence and engage closely with local territories. The laboratory will complement Proya's existing research and development centers, creating synergies in the field of scientific exploration.
The Europe Innovation Center will focus on leveraging Europe's strong expertise in longevity, skin biology, biotechnology, sustainable ingredients, and technologies. This facility will collaborate closely with Proya's research hubs in Hangzhou, China, which specializes in formulations and safety evaluations, and the Shanghai center, which emphasizes hair care and scalp microbiome research. Encompassing 450 square meters and equipped with 76 advanced instruments, the lab will be staffed by a team of seven specialized researchers dedicated to generating scientific knowledge and identifying new research avenues with high growth potential.
Founder and President of Proya Cosmetics, Hou Juncheng, emphasized the importance of this laboratory in bridging European and Chinese ecosystems to utilize combined strengths for creating new capacities in innovation. The grand unveiling included participation from various scientific and institutional partners, showcasing Proya's commitment to advancing research and innovation.
In conjunction with the lab's inauguration, Proya took part in Cosmetic 360, an international fair dedicated to the fragrance and cosmetics industry, held at the Carrousel du Louvre on October 14 and 15, 2026. Over 5,500 visitors from 70 countries attended to learn about Proya's research initiatives, demonstrating the company's intention to globalize scientific expertise while nurturing local innovations. Notably, Proya was actively involved in the "Innovation Challenges" at the event, themed "REGENERATIONS," collaborating with project leaders to explore the application of their technologies within the cosmetics sector and determining necessary adaptations for R&D.
Additionally, Proya's Director of R&D and Innovation, Dr. Sun Peiwen, delivered a talk on the integration of efficiency and regeneration in cosmetic manufacturing, emphasizing low carbon footprints and positive resource impact. The following day, Dr. Lieve Declercq, Chief Scientific Advisor at Proya Cosmetics, participated in a panel focused on open innovation, discussing strategies to harness global research networks and emerging technologies to transform scientific discoveries into tangible consumer benefits.
Proya Cosmetics, founded in 2003, has made significant strides in the cosmetics industry, specializing in research, production, and marketing of personal care products. Since its listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2017 (stock code: 603605), Proya has consistently led the Chinese cosmetics market, achieving revenues of 10.597 billion RMB in 2025—and aims to be among the top ten global cosmetics companies within the next decade.
Their growth strategy, known as "Double Ten," emphasizes technological research and talent development while promoting four essential transformations: smart use of operational data, international expansion, building industry platforms, and fostering a collaborative ecosystem of partners. Brands under the Proya umbrella include TIMAGE, OffRelax, Flower Knows, HAPSODE, CORRECTORS, INSBAHA, Awaken Seeds, SINGULADERM, UZERO, and ANYA, reflecting its diverse portfolio and commitment to innovation.
With the launch of the Europe Innovation Center laboratory, Proya Cosmetics reinforces its dedication to blending advanced scientific methods with practical applications, all while addressing the evolving needs of consumers in the beauty industry.
