Delta Electronics and NVIDIA Join Forces to Revolutionize Energy-Efficient AI Data Center Solutions

Delta Electronics Partners with NVIDIA for Cutting-Edge Power Management at OCP Global Summit 2026

At the recent OCP Global Summit held in Fremont, California, Delta Electronics, a leader in smart green solutions, spotlighted its innovative partnership with NVIDIA. The collaboration focuses on developing energy-efficient 800 VDC power and cooling solutions specifically designed for the increasing demands of AI data centers. With the proliferation of artificial intelligence, the infrastructure that supports these systems needs to evolve rapidly, and Delta is at the forefront of this transformation.

The summit featured multiple sessions, with Delta showcasing its latest technologies, including 800 VDC-compatible power racks that significantly enhance AI computing performance and power density. These solutions not only provide a straightforward path for existing data centers to scale their operations but also prepare them for the future of AI infrastructure.

Advancements in AI Infrastructure

On October 14, during the NVIDIA AI Factory MGX Ecosystem Ceremony, Delta presented various energy-efficient solutions tailored for 800 VDC architecture. One of the highlights was the 800 VDC 660kW In-Row Power Rack systems equipped with backup power capabilities. These systems are designed to support NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin NVL72 and other MGX racks, establishing a foundation for high-density AI operations.

As noted by Ted Shyy, Executive Vice President of Delta’s Power Electronics Business, “Scaling AI requires power and cooling infrastructure that evolves alongside computing platforms.” This collaboration aims to align Delta’s expertise in power management with NVIDIA’s cutting-edge AI technology, ultimately improving energy efficiency and supporting the demands of increasingly dense AI systems.

Innovative Power Conversion Technologies

At the summit, Delta also introduced a revolutionary Solid State Transformer (SST), which allows for direct conversion of medium-voltage AC to 800 VDC. This new technology simplifies the grid-to-chip power conversion process, resulting in reduced energy losses and increased efficiency — critical needs for modern AI applications.

Delta's HVDC Power Distribution Board (PDB) further enhances operations by converting 800 VDC to lower voltages such as 54 VDC and 12 VDC, maintaining high conversion efficiency — up to 98%. This combination of technologies contributes to more reliable data center operations and helps meet the power demands of advanced AI systems.

Integrated Cooling Solutions

In addition to power delivery innovations, Delta showcased its advanced 800 VDC cooling solutions. This includes the newly developed 800 VDC Liquid-to-Liquid Cooling Distribution Unit (L2L CDU), featured prominently at the conference. The L2L CDU is equipped with multiple hot-swappable pumps to ensure reliable operation without downtime, a critical feature for data centers demanding continuous operation.

The cooling solutions are designed specifically to tackle the thermal challenges associated with high-density AI environments. By utilizing a micro-channel cold plate design, the cooling systems significantly enhance heat transfer while reducing flow resistance, ensuring optimal thermal management.

Expert Insights and Future Directions

Ralf Pieper, Research and Design Director at Delta, participated in a panel discussion alongside NVIDIA’s Principal Electrical Engineer, Mike Tu. They examined the future landscape of power and cooling solutions tailored for AI data centers, emphasizing Delta's commitment to innovation.

Delta Electronics has a rich history of providing smart, energy-saving solutions and has been a significant player in the Americas for nearly four decades.
