Celebrate Music with Free Lessons During Teach Music Week Across 1,200 Locations

Celebrate Teach Music Week 2025

Keep Music Alive is thrilled to announce the arrival of the 11th Annual Teach Music Week, taking place from March 17th to March 23rd, 2025. This exciting week is dedicated to introducing individuals of all ages to the joy of making music. Musicians, schools, and music organizations are coming together to offer complimentary lessons, making it easier than ever for newcomers to dive into the world of music.

This year, over 1,200 locations are participating across more than a dozen countries, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom. With such a broad geographic reach, aspiring musicians are encouraged to find a nearby participating location on the Teach Music Week website by searching through their zip code or city. New locations are being continually added, so there’s ample opportunity to join this musical celebration.

Keep Music Alive is excited to collaborate with prominent music brands and organizations like Casio, Chord Board, Guitar Center, and the Les Paul Foundation for this event. These partnerships are aimed at inspiring both children and adults to explore their musical talents- initiating the start of something wonderful and lasting in their lives.

Among the variety of events surrounding Teach Music Week, Keep Music Alive is also hosting multiple Musical Instrument Petting Zoo days across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. These interactive events allow everyone, regardless of age or musical background, to try out different instruments in a hands-on environment—a true delight for budding musicians!

Teach Music Week is timed each year during the third week of March to coincide with the National Music in Our Schools Month®, which is celebrating its remarkable 40th Anniversary this year. This strategic timing seeks to promote music education in schools and communities, and any organization, whether public, private, or charter, is invited to incorporate music activities to encourage student enrollment in music classes.

Vincent James, co-founder of Keep Music Alive, emphasizes the goal of this initiative by stating, "We all know that often the biggest hurdle to doing something is just getting started. With Teach Music Week, we hope to inspire a new generation of musicians who will continue to reap the many benefits of playing music even after March is over."

Another exciting opportunity within this week is a free group guitar lesson organized in collaboration with Guitar Center, occurring on Saturday, March 15th. This chance to learn the basics of guitar in a supportive environment is something not to be missed, and registration details can be found at Guitar Center's Lessons Open House page.

Beyond the free lessons, Keep Music Alive organizes special events throughout the year, including performances by students, instrument donation drives, and community jams. The non-profit helps not only children but adults as well to discover the educational and therapeutic benefits associated with playing musical instruments.
