Randstad's Commitment to Inclusivity
Randstad Inc., a comprehensive human resource service provider, is pleased to announce its participation in an information exchange meeting on February 10, 2026, at Tohoku Gakuin University's Tohide Campus. The event, focusing on the employment transition of students with disabilities, will feature significant contributions from Yumiko Kobara, Talent Attraction Manager at Randstad's Human Resources Headquarters, and Yuka Ishii, a support staff member from the Tokyo Metropolitan Concentrated Process Center.
Promoting an Inclusive Society for Students
According to the Student Health Support Center at Tohoku Gakuin University, the job transition for students with disabilities, particularly those with mental and developmental challenges, remains underdeveloped in the Sendai area. Given the prevalence of small and medium enterprises in the region, there is a pressing need for sharing information and practical know-how among governmental bodies, educational institutions, and businesses. Randstad aims to be the most equitable and specialized staffing service firm, prioritizing the establishment of an environment where diverse talent can thrive. By sharing practical insights on dividing tasks and providing employment support that the company has honed over the years, Randstad seeks to contribute to solutions for local employment challenges in Sendai.
Sharing Unique Employment Strategies Through Collaboration
During the meeting, the representatives from Randstad will play pivotal roles:
1.
Presentation (Topic Contribution): They will provide detailed examples of disability employment practices from Randstad, including the recruitment process and strategies for task division and support during employment. The goal is to empower local businesses considering the employment of individuals with disabilities and contribute to a society where students can choose their paths according to their individual strengths.
2.
Panel Discussion: Following the presentation, Randstad will participate in discussions with local enterprises and university members. This exchange aims to foster a network of supporters across various industries and fields, discussing how to create an improved social environment where students with disabilities can thrive post-employment.
Comments from Yumiko Kobara
Yumiko Kobara expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "The barriers faced by students with mental and developmental disabilities in finding employment often stem not from their individual capabilities, but from mismatches in companies' acceptance environments and task designs. I am delighted to share our experiences of task division and our strategies to leverage individual strengths with our local partners. When companies change, the choices available to students expand. Together, we hope to take the 'first step' towards creating a society in Sendai where everyone can work authentically."
