Bar None Auction's New Chapter in Fontana, CA
Bar None Auction, a trailblazer in the heavy equipment auction industry, has officially opened its third location in Fontana, California. This exciting development adds to its existing sites in Sacramento, CA, and Woodburn, OR. Launched in October 2024, the Fontana yard has quickly ramped up operations and is now set to host monthly auctions starting January 2025.
Disruption Through Innovation
Since its inception in 1993 by Zeb Seidel, Bar None Auction has been committed to revolutionizing how heavy equipment is bought and sold. Under the leadership of his son, Josh Seidel, the company continues to push boundaries by offering a consistent auction frequency. "We want our clients to know they can come back each month, whether they're looking to buy or sell," said Josh Seidel. This consistent schedule empowers customers to better manage their inventory and finances.
Accessibility for All
The introduction of monthly auctions means buyers and sellers can participate more easily. The Southern California expansion solidifies Bar None's presence on the West Coast and introduces staggered auctions: the second Saturday in Sacramento, followed by the third and fourth Fridays in Fontana and Woodburn, respectively. However, May's Fontana auction will be held on the 23rd, deviating from the normal schedule.
Building on a Legacy
Josh Seidel spoke passionately about his family’s legacy in the auction business. "My grandfather was an auctioneer, my dad was an auctioneer, and I'm an auctioneer. The auction business is in my blood," he remarked. With a business degree from California State University-Sacramento and experience running various small businesses, Seidel is dedicated to ensuring the company maintains its high standards.
The name 'Bar None' reflects the Seidel family's commitment to excellence, tracing back to his great-great-grandfather’s motto: "I can get it done, bar none."
A Strategic Return to Southern California
After operating a location in the San Bernardino/Riverside area, Bar None Auction decided to concentrate on its Sacramento and Oregon sites. However, the strong demand from rental companies and contractors in Southern California prompted their return. The new Fontana location is equipped with 12 acres of paved space, two loading docks, and a broad range of forklifts to facilitate efficient load-out and checkout processes, as well as over a thousand feet of highway visibility.
The Future of Auctions is Online
All auctions conducted by Bar None Auction are now exclusively online, a transition that was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. While Josh appreciates the energy of live auctions, he acknowledges that the future lies in digital participation. "The pandemic trained buyers to embrace digital tools, and we've made it easier than ever to participate in our auctions. Each lot has a scheduled time for bidding, allowing customers to engage without the chaos of a live auction," he said.
Fostering Community Connections
To maintain the sense of community often associated with live auctions, Bar None hosts preview days complete with food trucks, giveaways, and opportunities for camaraderie among bidders. "It's about creating an experience," Josh emphasized.
As Bar None Auction continues its growth trajectory, the focus on exceptional service remains paramount. "We pride ourselves on being the easy button for our customers, whether they're selling or buying," he concluded.
With the opening of the Fontana location, Bar None Auction is well-positioned for sustained success, embracing both tradition and innovation in the auction industry.
