Salute the Troops Launches October Vetrepreneur Project for Veteran Entrepreneurs

Salute the Troops, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce (WVCC) and The Venture Project, is excited to announce its upcoming Vetrepreneur Project cohort scheduled for October 24–26, 2025, at the scenic Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. This three-day intensive program aims to provide veteran business owners with essential training, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to compete in a live pitch contest, where a total of $8,500 in awards will be granted to support their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Program Details

The Vetrepreneur Project is designed to foster growth among veteran-owned small businesses. Thirty selected veteran entrepreneurs will benefit from comprehensive program offerings that include workshops, one-on-one mentorship sessions, and networking events with successful entrepreneur veterans and investors. This enriching experience culminates in a pitch contest featuring prizes of $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 going to the most innovative business ideas.

Notably, accommodations, conference sessions, and necessary program materials are offered without any cost to the participants. Families are encouraged to join the veterans, and complimentary water park passes will be available; however, participants should anticipate covering their own meals and any expenses not related to the conference.

In the previous cohort held in May 2025, three commendable businesses were rewarded for their innovative approaches. Specifically, Operation Coffee received $5,000, Sloppy Hog BBQ was awarded $2,500, and Veteran Sanctuary clinched $1,000 to further their business goals.

Application Criteria

The program is open to U.S. veterans and currently serving military personnel who meet the following criteria:

- Reside in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, or Michigan.
- Own at least 50% of their business.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications at Salute the Troops website prior to the upcoming deadline.

Since its inception, the Vetrepreneur Project has made a significant impact, having supported 47 startups and distributing a total of $43,250 in direct funding along with nearly $100,000 worth of additional resources through mentorship, training, and business development opportunities.
