hlpy Partners with Volkswagen Group France to Digitize Roadside Assistance Services
hlpy Collaborates with Volkswagen Group France
In a significant move for both companies, hlpy, the Italian scale-up known for its innovative vehicle assistance services, has been selected by Volkswagen Group France. This partnership is aimed at transforming roadside assistance in France, the second-largest automotive market in Europe, after Germany. With approximately 4 million users and 270,000 new registrations each year across several brands, this collaboration marks a pivotal moment in digital automotive services.
A New Era of Digital Assistance
Beginning in October 2025, the partnership is set to revolutionize how roadside assistance is provided to customers. hlpy will offer a fully digitalized package that includes an electronic emergency call system known as “B-call,” which ensures a constant connection between drivers and the hlpy platform. This initiative aligns perfectly with Volkswagen's ambition to enhance customer experience and elevate its assistance services.
Stefano Sarti, Co-founder and Managing Director of Growth at hlpy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He stated, "We provide a technological platform that enables the entire network to be managed and optimized, offering services ranging from assistance to vehicle repair and logistics." The integration of hlpy’s technology is expected to not only enhance customer interactions but also optimize service management processes.
Targeting Growth in the French Market
Since its inception in 2020, hlpy has swiftly established a presence in the automotive assistance sector. With a local subsidiary set up in 2022, this new agreement with Volkswagen Group will fortify their position in France, aiming to become the leading market for hlpy in Europe by 2026. The company's projections suggest managing over 500,000 assistance services annually across the continent, with anticipated local sales exceeding 30 million euros.
Advanced Technology at the Forefront
Through its proprietary digital platform, hlpy harnesses data in real time using applications powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. This advanced technology enables the startup to provide rapid assistance, covering all facets of vehicle support, including repairs, maintenance, and travel continuity services such as vehicle replacements and hotel bookings.
The commitment to innovation was also echoed by Thierry Suquet, Customer Experience Director at Volkswagen Group France. He highlighted the importance of effective roadside assistance as a key factor in building customer loyalty. “When a customer finds themselves stranded, we must ensure they receive prompt and efficient assistance,” he said, underscoring the need for significant progress in this sector.
Transforming After-Sales Services
This partnership marks a transformative period not just for hlpy but for the automotive industry as a whole. As traditional models of vehicle assistance evolve, the collaboration illustrates a shift towards increasingly digitized after-sales processes. Founded by industry veterans with deep expertise in assistance, insurance, and mobility, hlpy's mission remains clear: to redefine vehicle assistance through a fully integrated digital platform.
hlpy is now positioned to provide services not only in France but also expand into markets including Italy, Germany, Spain, and Austria. The backing from prominent investors underscores confidence in hlpy's vision and its potential to significantly impact the mobility ecosystem.
In essence, this partnership between hlpy and Volkswagen Group France is not just about improving roadside assistance; it signifies a future where technology and mobility services converge seamlessly, fostering an enhanced customer experience and setting new standards in the automotive industry.
