Garnier and Becky G Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
This past weekend, Garnier, in collaboration with Fructis ambassador Becky G, hosted an exciting and culturally significant block party in Downtown Los Angeles. This event, which was open to all, celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month, honoring the vibrant culture and contributions of the Hispanic community.
The celebration was not just a party; it was a dynamic showcase of Latin culture. It featured a curated marketplace spotlighting 14 local Latin-owned businesses, each funded by Garnier, offering free tastings, products, and unique experiences to the attendees. The event highlighted Garnier's commitment to supporting and uplifting Hispanic voices and businesses.
Yaritza Caraballo, Garnier's Brand Engagement Lead, expressed the essence of the celebration: “We are deeply committed to uplifting and representing the Hispanic community through authentic engagement. With this event, we wanted to show up for a community that has consistently shown up for us, creating a true celebration of culture.”
Guests experienced a lively fusion of flavors, artistry, and traditions as they sampled mouthwatering dishes from various vendors including Syd Studios, Sad Girl Creamery, The Arepa Stand, and Leo's Taco Truck, among others. The crowd savored delightful Latin classics like pupusas, empanadas, tacos, churros, and refreshing beverages.
Furthermore, the event embraced inclusivity and cultural pride with a striking “wall of flags” that honored every Hispanic nationality, and featured live music performances by local artists such as Sangre Nueva. A special section called the “Pelo Bueno” salon was set up to celebrate diverse hair textures and types, making it a truly inclusive experience.
Becky G, who hosted the festivities, fully engaged with guests, visiting the vendors and even dancing salsa alongside her mother and the attendees. “It’s so special to work with a brand that genuinely celebrates our culture and supports our people. This event brought together everything I love: familia, cultura, and community,” she said.
Through this immersive experience, Garnier not only showcased Latin-owned businesses but also fostered a joyful, unified space radiating cultural pride, which is at the heart of Hispanic Heritage Month. The event was a powerful reminder of the strength found in community and cultural celebrations.
The partnership between Garnier and Becky G is a testament to the importance of representation and the value of supporting local businesses. Such celebrations amplify voices and stories from within the community, allowing for deeper connections and a greater understanding of the rich Hispanic culture.
