JENESYS 2025: An Insight into the Cultural Exchange Program



The JENESYS 2025 program is set to provide a unique opportunity for students from the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand to deepen their understanding of Japan's rich cultural heritage and cutting-edge technologies. This exchange program aims to invite a total of 30 participants who are enthusiastic learners of the Japanese language or have a keen interest in Japanese culture and technology.

Background of the Program



JENESYS, which stands for "Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths," is a project backed by the Japanese government to foster mutual understanding and strengthen friendships among youth in the Asia-Pacific region. By encouraging cultural immersion and educational opportunities, JENESYS aims to expand participants' horizons, including the possibilities of studying in Japan in the future.

Who Can Participate?



Participants are primarily high school students and technical school students from the following countries:
  • - Philippines: 8 students (including 1 supervisor)
  • - Singapore: 12 students (including 1 supervisor)
  • - Thailand: 10 students (including 1 supervisor)

Each participant will embark on a week-long journey in Japan, full of engaging activities designed to enhance their language skills and cultural knowledge.

Schedule of the Program



Dates: November 11 to November 18, 2025



The itinerary includes visits to various educational institutions, cultural sites, and manufacturing facilities. Here’s a brief overview of the planned activities:
  • - November 11: Arrival, orientation, and thematic lectures at TEPIA Advanced Technology Museum.
  • - November 12: Further thematic lectures at AMPS International Animation Academy and a visit to the National Printing Bureau in Japan.
  • - November 13: Travel from Tokyo to Miyagi Prefecture for school exchange visits at St. Ursula Academy.
  • - November 14: A unique cultural experience at Miyagi Meiji Village, where students will engage in cultural activities. This day will also include a courtesy visit and meet their host families for a home-stay experience.
  • - November 15-16: Continuation of home-stay, where participants will spend quality time with their host families. There will be a farewell party hosted by the families and various workshops to facilitate interaction.
  • - November 17: Participants will return to Tokyo for a reporting session.
  • - November 18: Departure back to their home countries.

Language of Instruction



The official languages used during the program are English and Thai, ensuring clear communication among participants from diverse backgrounds.

Program Coordination



The JENESYS program is organized by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), which plays a significant role in facilitating international exchanges and promoting understanding between Japan and other nations.
