Feng Xingya of GAC: User-Centric Green Solutions for Sustainable Futures

GAC's Vision for Sustainable Mobility

At the recent 7th World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC), held on September 27, 2025, in Guangzhou, GAC Group's Chairman and President, Feng Xingya, presented a compelling vision titled, "Ecology Defined by the User: Co-Creating a New Future for Mobility." His address highlighted a strategic shift towards user-centric green solutions tailored to meet contemporary mobility needs while fostering sustainability.

Feng emphasized the importance of an ecological approach that reflects users' preferences and needs, underscoring that technology should translate to practical solutions in ecological mobility. This approach is part of GAC's broader initiative to reshape the future of transport in an environmentally friendly manner.

The GLASS Initiative

GAC has been a recognized leader in the automotive industry, earning a position on the Fortune Global 500 list for 14 consecutive years. In 2021, the company launched the "GLASS Initiative," which aims to create a comprehensive carbon management system throughout the product lifecycle. This initiative is based on four main pillars:

1. Green Technology: GAC is committed to developing electric vehicle (EV) platforms, including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and extended-range vehicles, to offer a diverse array of clean mobility options.
2. Green Products: The focus here is on ensuring safety and enhancing the user experience with intelligent features.
3. Green Manufacturing: GAC advocates sustainable and smart manufacturing processes that promote high-quality production. In 2025, the company received three awards in the China Automotive Quality Study (AQR), demonstrating its commitment to manufacturing excellence.
4. Ecological Ecosystem: GAC is accelerating its "26 Energy Action" strategy, which integrates solar energy, battery storage, fast charging stations, and battery swap services into a cohesive ecosystem that supports green mobility.

In alignment with its ecological objectives, GAC aspires to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire lifecycle by the year 2050, signaling a robust commitment to sustainability.

Global Strategy Expansion

GAC's ecological strategy extends beyond the domestic market and reaches out towards global audiences. The company’s "One GAC 2.0" strategy focuses on leveraging its expertise in new energies and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts to engage global users more effectively. During the Fortune Global 500 Summit, Feng reiterated the pathway ahead, highlighting the development of new energies and low-carbon strategies, with China leading the charge.

Currently, GAC has established five KD plants worldwide and plans to double this number by the next year, marking a transition in its operational approach from mere vehicle exports to local production. The company's globalization strategy is rooted not only in exporting products but also in integrating local principles and contributing to local communities. GAC is dedicated to customizing intelligent green mobility solutions for each market, aligning with its goals of creating easier market entry and progressive engagement in the global automotive landscape.

Through these initiatives, GAC aims to not only participate in the global dialogue on sustainability but also to lead by example, setting benchmarks for industry standards. As the world faces the growing challenges of climate change, the insights shared by Feng at the WNEVC reveal a proactive approach that prioritizes user needs while fostering a sustainable future for mobility.

This commitment to transformation and innovation positions GAC as a significant player in the automotive sector, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in environmentally friendly transport solutions. Whether it's developing cutting-edge technologies or establishing effective production processes, GAC is at the forefront of shaping the future of mobility—one that is not only functional and efficient but also sustainable.
