Project AnimalAid's Milestone Donation

The donation entails seventeen pallets of essential medical instruments, now housed in Project AnimalAid’s warehouse in Boulder, Colorado.

Meghan Curtis, the executive director of Project AnimalAid, expressed her gratitude for the donation, noting, "This donation from Sklar Corporation is our most valuable to date and it will have a long-lasting impact on animal health. These supplies will directly assist veterinarians and animal rescuers working tirelessly with limited resources in difficult-to-reach areas."

Such invaluable surgical tools include forceps, needle holders, scissors, scalpels, retractors, towel clamps, and wound repair kits — all critical for performing spay/neuter procedures and providing consistent veterinary services and emergency care. Importantly, the stainless-steel instruments can be reused simply by sterilizing them, contrasting with human medical practices where such tools are generally disposed of after single use.

Project AnimalAid’s commitment extends beyond animal health. Curtis emphasized the environmental mission of the organization, stating, "The environmental aspect of Project AnimalAid's mission is equally important as improving animal health and welfare. All medical supplies provided to partners were initially destined for disposal but have been repurposed to save animals' lives around the globe."

Since its inception, Project AnimalAid has successfully redirected over 50 tons of medical supplies that would otherwise contribute to landfills, showcasing a commitment to sustainability.
