Empowering Students through Career Experience at Dormy Inn Oita
In a remarkable initiative to promote career awareness among high school students, Dormy Inn Oita is set to host a three-day career experience program called the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE, scheduled from October 28 to 30, 2025. Organized by Kyouritsu Maintenance, the operator of Dormy Inn hotels, this program aims to provide students from Tsukumi High School in Oita Prefecture with hands-on insights into the workings of the hospitality industry.
About DOMINISTA CHALLENGE
The DOMINISTA CHALLENGE has been a cornerstone program for Kyouritsu Maintenance since 2019, welcoming students from various high schools across Japan. This initiative allows students to engage in activities such as customer service at the front desk, cleaning routines, and bed-making, thereby gaining an understanding of the inner workings of hotel operations. By interacting with visitors to their hometown, students will not only grasp the essence of work but also the importance of helping others and collaboration. The hotel environment serves as an enriching platform for students to experience multicultural coexistence, particularly vital in our increasingly globalized society. To date, over 70 schools, including 11 from the Kyushu region, have participated in this career education initiative.

Student Feedback
Students from Tsukumi High School expressed enthusiasm for the program. One participant remarked, “In just three days, I want to grasp how hotel staff provide service and the variety of jobs that contribute to welcoming guests.” The feedback highlights the eagerness to learn about both the challenges and rewards of working in hospitality.
Management Perspective
Yoshiya Goto, the General Manager of Dormy Inn Oita, shared his hopes for the participants, stating, “While the duration is short, I hope students can grasp the challenges and rewards of hotel work. Experiencing the importance of teamwork and care for customer comfort will enrich their career considerations in the future. Our staff is dedicated to fully supporting your growth.”
Context and Future Insights
In an era marked by social and economic uncertainties, career education plays a crucial role in providing young people with a tangible sense of the meaning of work and fulfillment. Given the declining population, nurturing a sense of attachment to their regions and encouraging proactive engagement in local issues is increasingly essential. Through the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE, Kyouritsu Maintenance aims to provide children with opportunities to cultivate empathy, joy in work, and a sense of community engagement, fostering a better future for regional societies.
