Church of the Highlands Celebrates the Grand Opening of Oxford Campus Facility

Church of the Highlands Oxford Campus: A New Beginning

On August 30, 2026, the Church of the Highlands will mark a significant milestone as it officially opens its new facility at the Oxford Campus. This 44,333-square-foot building, located at 1601 Leon Smith Parkway, is designed to serve the growing needs of this vibrant community and provide a welcoming space for worship, connection, and growth.

A Space for Everyone

The new facility is equipped with a 1,200-seat auditorium, alongside age-specific children's spaces that will cater to families. One of the most exciting features of this new campus is the introduction of the Highlands Haven ministry, which specifically focuses on meeting the needs of individuals with special needs. This initiative marks a crucial step in the church's mission to provide inclusive worship experiences for all members of the community.

Launched in February 2018, the Oxford Campus of the Church of the Highlands has seen remarkable growth over the past eight years. Under the leadership of Campus Pastor David Williams, the church has become an integral part of the local fabric, offering a place where individuals and families can come together to connect in faith and community.

Commitment to Community

The construction of the new building was finalized in late July 2026, symbolizing the Church of the Highlands' ongoing commitment to the Oxford area and its residents. This commitment extends beyond merely providing a physical space; it includes an investment in the lives of people who find fellowship and a sense of belonging within the church.

Mark Pettus, Lead Pastor of the Church of the Highlands, expressed his excitement about the new facility, stating, "This is an exciting moment for our Oxford Campus and a testament to all God has done. We’re grateful for the opportunity to have a space where even more people can gather, grow in their faith, and make a difference right where God placed them. We believe our best days are still ahead in this city and the entire region."

Join the Celebration

On the day of the opening, services will take place at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m., inviting everyone in the community to come together for worship, inspiration, and connection. Attendees can expect a Bible-based message and opportunities to engage with new and old friends alike as they seek to build a vibrant community focused on faith.

Church of the Highlands has grown significantly since its inception in 2001, now boasting multiple locations throughout Alabama and Georgia. The opening of the Oxford Campus facility exemplifies the church’s dedication to evolving and meeting people where they are in their faith journeys.

In summary, the new Oxford Campus is not just a building; it is a beautiful opportunity for growth and outreach, reinforcing the Church of the Highlands' mission to help individuals know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference in their communities. Whether you are a long-time member or a newcomer, you are warmly invited to be part of this new chapter of the Church of the Highlands.
