Bet On Black Season 6 Launches with $500K for Student Entrepreneurs by Target

BET ON BLACK SEASON 6 IS BACK!

REVOLT, the prominent multimedia platform devoted to Black culture, has officially launched the sixth season of its successful show, Bet On Black. Premiering on October 19 at 9 PM ET on REVOLT's linear network, the new season has something even more exciting: a robust $500,000 fund committed by Target to support Black student entrepreneurs.

A Committed Partnership

Target has consistently backed the show, contributing nearly $3 million over its six seasons to foster Black-owned businesses. This initiative allows founders to maintain 100% of their equity, essentially ensuring that they have both financial support and the autonomy to build their ventures.

According to Detavio Samuels, CEO of REVOLT, Black entrepreneurs are brimming with talent and innovative ideas but often lack the necessary capital to bring these ideas to life. Bet On Black aims to bridge this gap by providing real funding and mentorship, which are crucial for fostering success.

Fresh Format and New Faces

This season introduces a revamped format where no single founder competes for a sole prize. Instead, every participating entrepreneur benefits from a slice of the $500,000 growth fund, ensuring that all participants receive financial backing. The new season features student entrepreneurs from renowned Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) such as Howard University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College among others.

The group of founders will receive invaluable mentorship from reputable figures in the business world, including Ryan Wilson, co-founder of The Gathering Spot, and Ashley M. Fox, an award-winning financial expert. The show's new approach to mentoring emphasizes coaching in entrepreneurial tactics, investment strategies, and brand development, equipping these students with the skills they need to succeed.

Filming and Production Excellence

Filmed in Atlanta, largely at The Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), the production maintains a commitment to diversity, with around 90% of its crew being Black. This dedication to representation extends beyond the screen, echoing the show’s mission to empower Black entrepreneurs.

Tune In for Inspiration

New episodes air every Monday at 9 PM ET on REVOLT's linear network, with additional airing on REVOLT.tv and YouTube every Tuesday at 11 AM ET. This format provides a flexible viewing experience for fans and aspiring entrepreneurs.
