Kishima Construction Co., in collaboration with Sega XD, is excited to announce the launch of an innovative puzzle workshop at the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025. This workshop, titled 'KAJIMA Puzzle Workshop - The Mystery of the Sustainability Dome', is designed for upper elementary and middle school students. Participants will learn about sustainable development and the importance of environmental conservation while solving engaging puzzles.

The workshop will take place from July 18 to July 27, 2025, inside the eco-friendly 'Sustainability Dome' at the expo site. The initiative will be a part of the Japanese International Exhibition, offering a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in learning about SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) while having fun.

Purpose and Goals

The 'KAJIMA Puzzle Workshop' aims to educate participants on significant topics such as global warming and the utilization of CO2 in construction. Drawing inspiration from Kishima's innovative sustainable techniques, participants will have the chance to work in small teams of 4 to 5 members, utilizing their problem-solving skills to tackle challenges posed by a mysterious masked figure who sends them on an adventure.

A Glimpse into the Workshop

The workshop begins with a thrilling storyline where a brilliant scientist and a diligent assistant introduce environmental issues. However, they suddenly receive a challenge from a masked character, adding a sense of urgency and excitement. Participants must act collaboratively to decode the puzzles while acquiring knowledge about sustainability and Kishima's cutting-edge technologies.

The innovative content curated by Sega XD ensures that the learning process is enjoyable and immersive, leveraging gamification techniques to enhance the overall experience.

The workshop is available for students ranging from upper elementary (4th to 6th grade) to middle school, making it accessible for many. Interested participants can register for the workshop for free after purchasing entry tickets for the Osaka Expo on the official website. As of July 18, spaces are still available, but prospective attendees are encouraged to register soon to secure their spots!

The 'KAJIMA Puzzle Base' serves as a platform where children can learn about the environment while engaging in puzzle-solving experiences. Activities include the 'Challenge from the Future' puzzle program, where kids explore the expo venue in search of hints and messages relating to the future of our planet. Another highlight is the 'Heavy CO2-SUICOM Stamp,' an intriguing novelty made with CO2-absorbing concrete, weighing 11.75 kg. Participants can challenge themselves to lift it individually or as a pair, making for an impressive and educational encounter at the expo.
