FranklinWH Integrates with Entergy Louisiana's Innovative Energy Storage Initiative
FranklinWH Partners with Entergy Louisiana for Energy Storage
FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc. has taken a significant step in the realm of home energy solutions by collaborating with Entergy Louisiana to launch a new battery incentive program known as Entergy Solutions. This initiative allows homeowners equipped with a FranklinWH system to actively participate in energy management during high-demand periods, thereby earning financial incentives while contributing to the stability of the power grid.
Launched on October 27, 2026, the program encourages Louisiana residents to install FranklinWH energy systems by offering a robust financial structure. Homeowners who enroll within a year of their purchase can earn up to $1,000 for their installed battery storage capacity. Specifically, they will receive $75 for each kilowatt-hour of battery storage they install, thereby fostering greater uptake of renewable energy technologies across the state.
Moreover, both existing and new FranklinWH systems enrolled in the program stand to earn an additional $125 for each kilowatt of energy discharged during demand-response events, with a maximum earning potential of $600 annually. This creates a dual incentive: homeowners can significantly lower their electricity bills while also receiving compensation for their participation in peak energy production.
The Process of Participation
During peak electricity demand scenarios, Entergy calls upon enrolled households to draw from their stored energy. The intricacies of energy dispatch are seamlessly managed via the FranklinWH app, ensuring that participants do not need to take additional actions when their stored energy is needed. The innovative system allows participants to discharge approximately 80% of their stored energy during such events, integrating user participation into an efficient energy management framework.
Interestingly, to ensure that homeowners have security during potential power outages, Entergy has implemented a policy that prevents the drawing of battery energy if severe weather events are expected. This means that users maintain backup power at all times, which is particularly reassuring in storm-prone Louisiana.
Benefits of the Initiative
According to Ke Bi, the Global CEO of FranklinWH, the collaboration with Entergy Louisiana not only augments the value of the FranklinWH systems but also signifies a meaningful evolution in the role of residential energy storage. Homeowners are now compensated for their contributions to the collective demand while having access to a reliable source of backup power.
Entergy Louisiana has ambitious projections with its virtual power plant (VPP) programs, aiming to deliver 155 megawatts of dispatchable capacity by 2030. Such advancements promise to mitigate the need for costly new utility-scale generation, ultimately leading to reduced bills for all customers.
The Entergy Solutions initiative embodies FranklinWH's broader participation across the United States in VPP and demand-response programs. With operations in over 30 VPPs nationwide, FranklinWH continues to position itself at the forefront of residential energy management, allowing homeowners to earn incentives while ensuring grid support during peak times.
