The development team behind the open-world action RPG, Where Winds Meet, has officially announced its plans for seasonal updates following the game's launch. In a bid to immerse players in a rich narrative and engaging gameplay experience, the game will introduce significant content every three months through seasonal updates. Season 1 will kick off with the addition of two major areas, Qinghe and Kaifeng, each featuring standalone storylines that delve deeper into the main narrative and character backgrounds.

The evolution of the story will be paired with the introduction of new areas, characters, gameplay elements, and limited-time events, alongside an expansion of social features. This core philosophy is reflected in the combat system, which includes an array of weaponry such as weighted spear thrusts, graceful sword slashes, fluid dual-wielding attacks, long-range strikes with a whip, and elegant defensive moves with a fan.

Among the unique weapons featured in the game, the umbrella stands out as a symbol of martial arts itself. The umbrella embodies a dual-purpose strategy, representing the delicate balance between poetry and lethal intent at the heart of martial arts. As Lyu elaborates, "The umbrella is martial arts in its entirety. It harmoniously merges reality and fantasy, beauty and danger. It serves as both a deadly weapon and a sturdy shield, allowing diverse combat styles—from solo breakthroughs to teamwork strategies, including aerial assaults—unlike anything else."

To achieve this intricate blend of reality and imagination, the development team collaborated with renowned Hong Kong action film director Donnie Yen, known for his work in films like Dragon Fury. Through full-body motion capture of martial artists, the team has meticulously recreated the physical impact and tactical nuances of martial arts, ensuring that every move captures the essence of the martial arts philosophy.
