Geely EX2 Launch: A Milestone in Urban Mobility

Geely Auto recently announced its foray into the Thai market with the notable launch of the GEELY EX2, an electric vehicle geared towards urban living. This debut took place at the prestigious 42nd Thailand International Motor Expo, where Geely showcased a complete lineup of new-energy products. Among these were the all-electric SUV GEELY EX5 and the innovative plug-in hybrid SUV GEELY STARRAY EM-i.

The GEELY EX2 is designed for modern urban mobility, blending state-of-the-art technologies with consumer-friendly features. The vehicle is characterized by its distinctive design and spacious interior, which is optimized for city commuting. The GEELY EX2 has made notable strides in the fast-emerging urban mobility space in Thailand, aiming to meet the growing demand for accessible electric transport options.

Design and Performance

One of the prominent features of the GEELY EX2 is its captivating design, which has already been recognized with the 2024 IDA Design Award and the Top Design distinction at the 2024 European Product Design Award. The vehicle offers ample interior space, boasting an impressive 85% utilization rate. With a fully flat rear floor and an abundance of storage compartments—36 in total, including a front trunk that can hold 70 liters—this car prioritizes comfort for daily use.

Additionally, its rear-wheel drive system, combined with a multi-link suspension, provides exceptional handling and maneuverability in congested city traffic. It promises quick acceleration, making it an excellent option for urban drivers. For weekend family adventures, the EV range is sufficient to support varied leisure activities without the hassle of frequent charging.

Market Response & Future Plans

Evin Ye, Vice President of Geely Auto International, emphasized that the introduction of the GEELY EX2, alongside the GEELY STARRAY EM-i, underscores Geely Auto's commitment to strengthening its footprint in Southeast Asia through an extensive electrified product range. The launch was met with an enthusiastic market response, featuring over 1,000 pre-orders within just three days. This showcases the model's strong appeal and solidifies Geely's confidence in its urban electric vehicle strategy.

The launch at the Thailand International Motor Expo is a significant milestone in Geely Auto's ambitious goals within Thailand. To enhance customer access and improve service quality, Geely is ramping up the development of its retail and after-sales service network in cooperation with Thonburi Neustern Co., Ltd., part of the Thonburi Group, a reputable local automotive professional. By the end of 2026, Geely plans to establish a network of 65 locations across Thailand, bolstering reliability and support for its consumers.
