Voting for the Best Policy Award in National High School Policy Koshien Begins September 1st

National High School Policy Koshien Voting

The National High School Policy Koshien, organized by the Japan Junior Chamber (Japan JC), has officially launched its online voting for the outstanding award. This exciting event allows high school students across Japan to brainstorm and present their innovative policies addressing pressing societal issues.

What is the National High School Policy Koshien?

This initiative aims to encourage political engagement among youth by providing them with a platform to formulate policies and present them to the government. Launched in 2023, this year marks the third installment of the event, challenging students to craft policies under two specific categories: “Creating Sustainable Digital Policies for Future Japan!” and “You Are the Prime Minister! Addressing Local Social Issues for a Brighter Future!”.

The competition this year saw an unprecedented number of entries, with 352 teams comprising around 1500 students from 33 prefectures across the country. After several rounds of evaluation, 16 teams (8 from each category) have earned their spot in the finals, competing for the prestigious Best Policy Award.

Voting Process

The winner of the Best Policy Award will be determined through a national online voting system, where the team with the most votes will take the prize. To participate, voters must register via the official LINE account or the Koshien website, where they can read the submitted policies before casting their votes. Voting is open from September 1 to September 20, 2025.
