Coach Foundation Unleashes $20M Investment for Youth Empowerment Initiative
On June 16, 2025, the Coach Foundation announced an impressive investment of $20 million aimed at uplifting the lives of under-resourced youth. This transformative initiative is designed to empower young individuals to turn their dreams into reality, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to its North American Dream It Real program, which aims to almost double its efforts by 2030.
This bold step marks an exciting new chapter for the Coach Foundation, particularly for its flagship scholarship program now entering its seventh year. The Foundation aspires to award a total of 10,000 scholarships by 2030, and with this significant funding boost, it is well-positioned to reach that goal earlier than anticipated.
The Dream It Real program represents a significant aspect of the Coach Foundation's mission to break down barriers and create opportunities for the next generation. These resources include not just scholarships but also mentorship and diverse support systems intended to guide young people towards successful futures. The results from the program have been astounding: 97% of Dream It Real scholars are on track to graduate on time, compared to the national average of 21% for students from similar backgrounds. Remarkably, 94% of these scholars are first-generation college students who, thanks to the program, graduate with 88% less debt than their peers.
To achieve these impactful results, the Coach Foundation has partnered with respected educational organizations such as Bottom Line and The Opportunity Network. This synergy has allowed the Foundation to continue dismantling obstacles to higher education, ensuring lasting change for motivated young people pursuing their dreams.
In a statement, Todd Kahn, Coach CEO and Brand President, emphasized the Foundation’s dedication to empowering young people. “This investment represents our unwavering commitment to the young people we support. By expanding our investment in North American programs, we are not only accelerating our impact but also scaling successful strategies. These young individuals are achieving extraordinary outcomes, and we’re committed to aiding even more of the next generation in realizing their potential and shaping the future.” He further stated, “Our new 2030 goals will ensure we can reach even more students who deserve access to pursue their dreams.”
The announcement of this sizeable investment was made during the Coach Foundation’s annual Dream Day event on June 12. This year’s event was particularly special, commemorating the graduation of the first official cohort of Dream It Real scholars while simultaneously welcoming the largest and newest group of students into the program.
The gathering featured more than 400 young people and included motivational talks from WNBA stars Kiki Iriafen of the Washington Mystics and Aneesah Morrow of the Connecticut Sun. The event, bearing the theme 'Dream Horizons,' symbolized a transformative moment where one chapter in these young people's lives concludes while another freshly begins. It was a day filled with inspiration and enthusiasm, featuring activities like speed mentoring and manifestation workshops that encouraged participants to think boldly about their futures.
With this substantial investment, the Coach Foundation is gearing up to broaden its mission of aiding young people in reaching their utmost potential. The core belief guiding this initiative is that all youths should have equitable access to pathways that allow them to chase their aspirations.
