Transforming Job Hunting for Gen Z: The TOITA Forum 2025
The landscape of job hunting for Generation Z is evolving, and on December 16, 2025,
Toita Women’s Junior College in Minato-ku, Tokyo, will host a transformative event known as the
TOITA Forum 2025. This unique reverse recruitment event will see
114 female students present themselves to
73 companies and their
134 HR representatives, making it one of the largest gatherings of its kind in Japan.
The TOITA Forum has gained recognition for its innovative approach, allowing students to showcase their accomplishments during their studies—referred to as their “Gakuchika”—in five-minute presentations. This year marks the eighth installment of the event, which aims to reduce mismatches in employment and foster genuine connections between students and potential employers.
A Rigorous Training Program
Prior to the forum, participating students undergo a rigorous two-month training program that equips them with the skills needed to effectively market themselves. This training includes meticulous self-analysis, crafting compelling presentation scripts, creating engaging slides, and honing their communication skills through expressive training. The close-knit environment at Toita fosters meaningful interaction between students and staff, ensuring personalized feedback tailored to each student’s journey.
Engaging directly with professionals at the forefront of recruitment offers students unique insights and constructive criticism, bolstering their self-presentation capabilities. The event emphasizes the importance of preparation, and students are eager to implement suggestions from industry experts, further enhancing their employability.
Diverse Recruitment Opportunities
The range of participating companies at the TOITA Forum is impressive, spanning a broad array of industries including bridal services, hospitality, apparel, beauty, food, IT, airlines, and finance. This diverse participation not only highlights the evolving nature of recruitment standards but also creates an avenue for proactive students to connect with companies that align with their ambitions.
Notable companies participating include major players such as
Meiji Kinenkan, Tokyo Kaikan, and Happo-en in the bridal sector;
Mash Group, Baroque Japan Limited, and Kose Corporation in fashion and beauty; as well as
Godiva Japan and Seijo Ishii in food. The
Walt Disney Company Japan represents the entertainment industry’s presence at this significant gathering.
Event Schedule and Recognition
Scheduled to take place at Toita Women’s Junior College, the event will kick off with student presentations in the morning, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a review and award ceremony from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
