Timmy Partners with Chiyoda Town in Gunma
In a groundbreaking move, Timmy Corporation, which offers the popular shift work service, has formed a partnership agreement with Chiyoda Town and the Chiyoda Town Chamber of Commerce. This collaboration marks the first such partnership between Timmy and a municipality in Gunma Prefecture.
About Chiyoda Town
Chiyoda Town is located within a 60-kilometer radius of Tokyo, positioned along the left bank of the Tone River. The town has developed harmoniously in terms of agriculture, industry, and commerce. Agriculture is primarily centered around rice and wheat cultivation, benefiting from the abundant water supply of the Tone River. Additionally, the town hosts an industrial park that has expanded due to convenient transportation links, featuring a commercial area with large home improvement centers.
Despite its dynamic economy, Chiyoda has been experiencing a gradual decline in population since 2007. Projections indicate that by around 2060, the population could drop below 10,000. Furthermore, the labor force participation rate has fallen below 60%, reflecting the ongoing challenges posed by an aging population and low birth rates. Currently, there are about 500 small and medium-sized enterprises in the area, and this number is also on the decline, resulting in concerns over labor shortages and a lack of successors within these businesses.
The Objectives of the Partnership
The newly established agreement aims to leverage Timmy’s services to alleviate labor shortages faced by local businesses in Chiyoda Town. This partnership will also promote diverse working styles through “spot work,” which encourages citizens to utilize their time effectively, whether they are looking for part-time work or are otherwise engaged.
Timmy's mission states, "We create an infrastructure that expands possibilities in life through work." This partnership reflects the company's commitment to addressing local challenges and fostering industrial vitality within the Chiyoda community.
Support Initiatives
Under this partnership, Timmy will collaborate with Chiyoda Town and the Chamber of Commerce to provide various forms of support for local businesses and workers. Key initiatives include:
- - Workshops for Chamber Members: Timmy will hold informational sessions for Chamber of Commerce members to facilitate the introduction and effective use of spot work.
- - Seminars for Residents: The partnership will also organize seminars for local residents, aimed at promoting diverse ways of working and enhancing employment opportunities.
Timmy's Previous Collaborations with Local Governments
To date, Timmy has established partnerships with 34 prefectures and 68 local governments. The agreement with Chiyoda Town marks the 35th prefecture and the 69th municipality that Timmy has collaborated with, showing its ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and addressing labor-related challenges.
