MGM China Reports Impressive Q2 2025 Financial Results



MGM China Holdings Limited, regarded as a leading operator in the Greater China gaming market, has released its financial data for the second quarter of 2025, showcasing robust growth and a bright outlook for the future. The results reflect the company’s rapid recovery and its ability to adapt to changing market conditions following the challenges posed by the global pandemic.

Financial Performance Overview



During the second quarter of 2025, MGM China reported a notable increase in its key financial metrics compared to the same period last year. The Group’s daily gross gaming revenue (GGR) surged to an average of MOP 111.2 million, reflecting a 12% year-on-year growth. This contrasts starkly with the first quarter's GGR of MOP 100.4 million and showcases the company's upward trend.

In terms of overall net revenue, MGM China reached HK$8.7 billion, indicating a 24% increase from HK$8.0 billion reported in Q2 2024. Notably, the adjusted EBITDA rose to HK$2.5 billion, marking a first for MGM China, surpassing 2019 pre-COVID levels by an impressive 172%. The adjusted EBITDA margin also stood strong at 29.0%, underscoring the Group's operational efficiency during this period.

Market Share Growth



MGM China's market share has demonstrated significant enhancement as well, growing to approximately 16.6%, an increase from 16.0% a year prior. The MGM COTAI presently holds about 10.5% of the market with MGM MACAU at around 6.2%. These figures indicate MGM's ongoing strength within the Macau gaming landscape and its capacity to attract a broader customer base.

Visitors and Engagement



With daily visitation in Macau reaching 102,812, marking a 19% year-on-year increase, MGM China witnessed property visitation that grew by 12%, reaching an impressive 175% of 2019’s levels. Average occupancy rates soared to 94.5%, illustrating the high demand for MGM's offerings.

New Developments



The company also took strides in enhancing its hospitality options, with the completion of the Alpha Villas at MGM MACAU. All 28 villas became available to guests in July 2025, responding positively to the evolving preferences of their guests. This forward-thinking approach demonstrates MGM’s commitment to providing top-tier experiences in alignment with customer expectations.

Cultural and Sporting Contributions



MGM China has not only focused on its gaming operations but has also expanded its portfolio with non-gaming events and culinary showcases. Notably, MGM consolidated its commitment to culinary excellence by collaborating with four Michelin-star chefs, bringing together a fusion of East and West in its MGM x RR1HK Culinary Masters Macau event. This initiative celebrated Macau’s unique cultural heritage as a premier gastronomic destination.

Additionally, the company partnered with the Macau Government for significant sporting events such as the MGM Artistic Swimming Elite Extravaganza Macao Open Competition 2025, showcasing the talents of elite athletes, including Olympic champions.

MGM’s acclaimed residency show, Macau 2049, created in collaboration with renowned filmmaker Zhang Yimou, marked its 100th show recently. This show has attracted a diverse audience, with about 30% of attendees being international visitors, further cementing Macau’s status on the global stage.
