To facilitate this endeavor, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan is organizing a government-business mission aimed at food-related enterprises seeking to explore business opportunities in India. The mission is set to take place from February 3 to February 7, 2026, focusing on the vibrant cities of New Delhi and Gurgaon.

Mission Details



The mission targets businesses involved in food manufacturing and the restaurant industry, with an emphasis on Japanese companies. This initiative is part of a larger strategy outlined in Japan’s Food, Agriculture, and Rural Areas Basic Plan, which aims to enhance exports of agricultural and food products. The official application period opens today, October 15, 2025, and will continue until January 17, 2026.

Participants can expect an engaging itinerary that includes visits to local government agencies and relevant businesses, providing valuable insights into the Indian market. This is a prime opportunity to engage with local stakeholders and explore partnership possibilities.

Itinerary Overview



February 3 (Tuesday)
  • - Morning: Depart from Haneda Airport
  • - Afternoon: Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to the hotel

February 4 (Wednesday) (Mandatory Attendance)
  • - Morning: Exchange of ideas with officials at the Japanese Embassy in India and other relevant organizations
  • - Afternoon: Business matching session with INVEST INDIA and CII
  • - Evening: Networking meeting with Japanese food companies already operating in India

February 5 (Thursday) (Mandatory Attendance)
  • - Morning: Visits to food-related manufacturing facilities and cloud kitchens
  • - Afternoon: Seminars and visits to Japanese food companies active in the region
  • - Evening: Continuing discussions with local Japanese businesses

February 6 (Friday) (Mandatory Attendance)
  • - Morning: Visits to logistics facilities of Japanese companies
  • - Afternoon: Tour of local grocery markets, including supermarkets
  • - Evening: Depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport (Direct flights preferred from JAL or ANA)

February 7 (Saturday)
  • - Early Morning: Arrive back at Haneda Airport

Participant Information



Limited to 20 participants, this mission aims to provide an intimate platform for learning and networking. If registration exceeds the limit, selection will be made based on submitted applications.

To apply, interested individuals must complete the application form provided on the designated website. Applications will be accepted from October 15, 2025, to January 17, 2026.

Costs and Responsibilities



Participation in the mission is free of charge; however, each participant is responsible for their own travel expenses, including flights, accommodation, insurance, and any other associated costs such as visa fees.
