Carbon Mapper's Expanding Role

Founded on scientific integrity, Carbon Mapper is a nonprofit that has swiftly established itself as a leader in emissions monitoring. The organization recently launched its second satellite, enhancing its capacity to provide vital methane data across the globe. This satellite, known as Tanager, works in conjunction with its predecessor to track methane plumes, thus aiding governments and industries in their emissions reduction efforts.

Erin Blanton, the Chief Operating Officer of Carbon Mapper, emphasized the importance of the new board members, stating, "As we scale our satellite constellation, we're equally focused on scaling the data platform, science, and partnerships that turn that data into action. Nile and Bob bring the financial and policy rigor to help us grow with purpose and deliver lasting climate impact."

Carbon Mapper aims to address the urgent climate crisis by ensuring that its data leads to actionable insights. The organization's commitment to translating complex emissions data into practical solutions is commendable, especially as monitoring emissions becomes increasingly crucial in the fight against climate change.

The organization's strategy involves not just satellite data collection but also emphasizing partnerships with governments and industry to enact real changes on the ground. By leveraging remote sensing technology, Carbon Mapper is set to provide precise and timely data, empowering decision-makers around the world to act decisively against emissions.
