In a remarkable feat showcasing youthful innovation, the team from Valley Christian High School (VCS) in San Jose, California, has made it to the semifinals of the XPRIZE Wildfire competition, an initiative boasting an impressive prize pool of $11 million. This achievement positions them as the sole high school team among the top 15 semifinalists globally, competing against esteemed university researchers and private sector developers.

Competing under the banner of Wildfire Quest, these dedicated student engineers are tackling one of the most pressing issues of our time: wildfire management.
