Join Us for a Mini Japanese Lesson in Asakusa!

As the autumn tourism season approaches, excitement builds for an engaging language event hosted by the Touristship Foundation and Touristship Global, scheduled for November 22, 2025. Located at the iconic Hōzōmon Gate of Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, this unique event titled Mini Japanese Lesson in English aims to foster understanding and connection between foreign travelers and local residents through the beauty of the Japanese language.

Addressing Communication Gaps

With the increasing number of tourists visiting Japan, misunderstandings and communication barriers often arise between visitors and local inhabitants. According to a recent survey conducted by the Touristship Foundation with 100 Japanese participants:
  • - 54% expressed feeling uncomfortable when suddenly approached by someone speaking a language other than Japanese.
  • - 49% reported having had unexpected interactions with foreign travelers in languages other than Japanese.

In contrast, 97% of foreign tourists indicated their desire to be welcomed by locals during their travels. These findings highlight the necessity of bridging the communication divide, which is the primary motivation behind this event.

Event Objectives

The Mini Japanese Lesson is designed to accomplish several key objectives:
  • - Fostering Connections: Create warm interactions with locals through the Japanese language.
  • - Experiencing Cultural Richness: Engage with the depth and variety of Japanese expressions.
