As the Golden Week (GW) approaches in 2025, a survey conducted by Enito Group sheds light on how approximately 1,098 young adults in their 20s perceive and plan their holiday. This year's GW promises a long break, providing an excellent opportunity not only for relaxation but for social and romantic interactions as well.
Rethinking Leisure Time: The New Trends
The survey indicates that this year, many young adults prefer a more relaxed approach to their leisure time. About 52.8% of respondents indicated that their plans chiefly revolve around spending time at home, embracing activities such as watching movies, gaming, or just lounging.
Contrarily, 38.1% reported plans to engage with friends, while 29.9% intend to dedicate time to hobbies, showcasing a trend towards prioritizing personal interests and small gatherings over hectic schedules. The data also revealed that around 19.6% of participants haven’t finalized their plans yet, emphasizing a more flexible mindset towards time management during holidays.
Romance on the Rise: A Positive Perspective
Interestingly, half of the surveyed participants associated GW with heightened romantic enthusiasm. Approximately 45.5% expressed that their desire for dating and relationships increases during this time. Many view the extended vacation as a perfect window to boost their dating pursuits, indicating a proactive approach to using dating apps like "with".
During GW, 45.0% of those surveyed suggested they would take full advantage of the entire 11-day break to connect via apps, asserting that long breaks facilitate deeper connections by allowing for more conversations and exchanges. This trend marks a significant cultural shift, where a long holiday is synonymous with increased dating opportunities.
Serious Relationships in Sight
The survey results also revealed that 80% have serious relationship expectations regarding potential encounters during GW, with 34% confirming they plan to meet someone they matched with through the app over this period. This statistic illustrates a strong ambition among young adults to transform temporary connections into meaningful relationships, highlighting the evolving dynamics of dating in the digital age.
Furthermore, the new atmosphere created by starting a fresh phase of life seems to influence many respondents’ anticipation. With 80% reporting a lack of significant new interactions at work, many individuals express a desire to leverage dating apps as vital resources for meeting potential partners.
