In a bold move towards sustainable mobility, ChangAn Automobile has officially launched its three prominent brands—CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR—in Europe. This landmark event took place in Mainz, Germany, and is part of the company's broader initiative known as the "Vast Ocean Plan" that emphasizes innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry.
The launch event, themed "Sharing the Future," highlighted ChangAn’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology with electric mobility solutions. As the company aims to strengthen its presence within the European market, it hosts a fully integrated ecosystem ranging from research and development to production, supply chain, sales, and operations.
Debuting New Models
Among the key highlights of the event was the introduction of the DEEPAL S07, which made its European debut along with prospects of the CHANG-AN E07 and the DEEPAL S05 expected to follow shortly. These vehicles showcase advanced intelligence and electrification technologies, aligning with the increasing demand for high-performance electric vehicles in Europe.
ChangAn’s world-class technological innovation is evident through its collaborative R&D systems operating across six countries with ten dedicated research sites. The company boasts a workforce of over 18,000 R&D professionals from 31 different regions, supported by 16 technological research and product development centers, 17 tech enterprises, and 180 laboratories, ensuring its pivotal role in the European electric vehicle market.
Market Entry Strategy
As part of its European strategy, ChangAn is initially targeting key electric vehicle markets, including Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. By 2028, the company aims to establish a presence across all major European markets. The European headquarters is located in the Netherlands, consolidating commercial operations, while a sales office has been set up in Munich, Germany. Currently, approximately 500 professionals are employed within Europe, including experienced designers and engineers from Italy and the United Kingdom, showcasing ChangAn’s commitment to local talent development to boost innovation and market presence.
Future Projections
"It’s great to be here in Germany, and we are looking forward to building strong partnerships," said Zhu Huarong, President of ChangAn Automobile. He emphasized the company’s mission to support sustainable mobility and enhance human quality of life. "This year, our target is to sell three million units globally, with a goal of one million being electric vehicles. By 2030, we plan to reach five million annual vehicle sales, with three million of those being electric. Together, we are innovating for a better future."
