Empowering Youth Initiatives in Hino City
In a significant move towards promoting youth engagement and community collaboration, Hino City in Tokyo has partnered with Satofull, the popular hometown tax portal, to initiate a crowdfunding project called "Hino City Dream Realization Department! We Want to Shape Young People's Ideas Together!" This program aims to encourage donations starting from September 1, 2025.
About the Crowdfunding Project
The Satofull crowdfunding platform innovatively utilizes the hometown tax system to launch projects and solicit donations for specific causes. Here, donors can choose their contributions based on the outlined purposes and engage with local municipalities by sharing messages of support or tracking the donation progress made towards specific initiatives.

The projects in this initiative are structured to not only gather funds but also to create interactive experiences for residents to engage meaningfully with one another.
Team A: Place-making Initiatives
One of the proposed initiatives involves setting up small display boxes in public spaces like train stations and shopping malls. These boxes will serve as platforms for book exchanges and hobby displays, fostering indirect connections among a diverse group of people through shared interests and resources. This innovative approach encourages casual interactions, promoting community bonding even when individuals do not meet face-to-face.
Team B: Generational Coexistence and Safety Networks
Team B is focused on creating a "Connection Map" that visualizes the relationships and needs within the local community. This mapping project aims to address the wants and challenges faced by Hino residents. Additionally, it will host community dining events to stimulate cross-generational dialogue, enhancing social networks and deepening ties among residents of different ages.
Team C: Hometown Branding Contest
Team C will organize a participatory contest known as the “Hino City Buzz King Contest.” This event will provide citizens a chance to rediscover and promote Hino's unique appeal. By encouraging social media posts and event planning, the contest aims to cultivate local pride, enabling residents to feel a deep connection and affection for their city.
Message from Hino City
Although donations to this initiative will not result in rewards, all contributions will be utilized as crucial funds for the pilot programs. Furthermore, donors will be invited to physical meet-ups and reporting sessions to witness the impact of their support first-hand.
The three projects seeking support not only represent the aspirations of young participants but also serve as a testing ground for innovative civic involvement through the Dream Realization Department. This approach aims to cultivate a culture of dialogue and co-creation, promoting shared understanding and encouraging diverse ideas to flourish in the community.
