What is Universal Design?
Universal Design refers to the philosophy of creating environments that respect the diversity of individuals, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or personal abilities. It emphasizes inclusivity, allowing everyone to actively participate in society. The Itabashi ward aims to realize a community where living is easy for all, under the framework of the
Itabashi Universal Design Promotion Plan 2025. This plan encompasses a comprehensive approach through both hard and soft measures.
The Universal Design Exhibition has been held since 2019 and marks its
seventh installment this year, further solidifying our commitment to inclusive design.
