iGan Partners Makes Significant Investment in Adenocyte to Enhance Early Pancreatic Cancer Detection

iGan Partners Invests in Adenocyte Ltd

In a significant move to combat one of the deadliest forms of cancer, iGan Partners has announced its investment in Adenocyte Ltd, a company dedicated to advancing the early detection of pancreatic cancer. This investment has the potential to transform the landscape of pancreatic cancer screening, providing hope for many patients at risk of this aggressive disease.

Groundbreaking Technology

Adenocyte has developed an innovative technology known as the LINFU® platform, which utilizes a combination of microbubble injection and low-intensity non-focused ultrasound. This approach allows for the safe and effective release of epithelial cells from various organs, including the pancreas, breast, and prostate, for timely cytological analysis. The LINFU system is particularly aimed at identifying precancerous changes and very early-stage cancers, making it a crucial tool for high-risk populations.

The technology is already making significant strides, having entered clinical use and demonstrating effectiveness in initial procedures. So far, the platform has been deployed in several U.S. endoscopy centers, leading to over 150 successful patient procedures. Notably, initial findings presented at the U.S. and Canadian Academy of Pathology Annual Meeting indicated an impressive 100% specimen adequacy and specificity, leading to the identification of four unsuspected cases of neoplasia, including a T1N0 adenocarcinoma that went undetected by conventional methods such as EUS, MRI, or FNA.

Investment Details

For this initiative, iGan Partners, along with its associated funds, has taken the lead in the first closure of Adenocyte's $10 million financing round, with further funding expected to be finalized next month. The financial support will help Adenocyte expand its clinical and commercial efforts, facilitating the advancement of the LINFU® platform and its application in real clinical settings.
