FITUR 2026 Expands Technological Dimension with Knowledge Hub Initiative

FITUR 2026 Expands Its Technological Dimension with Knowledge Hub

The International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2026, will take place from January 21 to 25 at IFEMA MADRID. In an effort to solidify its position as a leading platform in the tourism sector, FITUR is enhancing its focus on technology through the introduction of the Knowledge Hub. This innovative space will be situated in Hall 12, designed to serve as a central point for showcasing cutting-edge technologies in travel.

Elevating Industry Standards

The Knowledge Hub aims to unite leading companies from across the globe that excel in the digital landscape, presenting impactful and current content that shapes the future of tourism. This initiative is crucial as the tourism sector grapples with rapid technological change, and FITUR seeks to promote knowledge-sharing and best practices among professionals in the industry.

During the professional days of the fair, specifically January 21 to 23, international experts will convene in this hub to partake in hundreds of sessions dedicated to exchanging experiences and insights—critical for adapting to ongoing trends in the tourism landscape.

Growth in Travel Technology

One of the highlights is the focus on travel technology, which has seen over 35% growth compared to last year. The Knowledge Hub will feature more than 100 companies from 20 different countries, emphasizing the pivotal role technology plays in transforming the tourism sector. Partnerships for this event include collaborations with prominent names in technology such as Amadeus, Travelgate, BeonX, and several others, further reinforcing FITUR’s status as a key player in the industry.

Moreover, the hub will enhance various offerings at the congress, incorporating FITUR Know-How Export, FITUR Sports, and FITUR Talent, along with the sustainability observatory FITURNEXT. The strategic layout of Hall 12 will facilitate visitor access and ensure a smooth flow between the different hubs, ultimately benefiting both exhibitors and attendees.

A Modern Venue for Professionals

Hall 12, located at the southeast entrance of the Trade Fair Center, is strategically positioned to provide direct access to the event, which is designed to streamline traffic between halls 4 and 12. This accessibility is set to create a vibrant environment that boosts visibility for all activities and exhibitors present. With a focus on ensuring that the activities cater to professional visitors during the weekdays and provide a rich experience for the general public over the weekend, FITUR aims to create an engaging and exclusive experience.

The upcoming 46th edition of FITUR will span nine halls—3 through 12—showcasing the most innovative offerings from both public and private organizations connected to destinations, accommodations, agencies, tour operators, technology companies, and transport services.

Each hall serves a distinct purpose with specific regions or themes; for instance: Hall 3 will represent the Americas, Hall 4 will showcase Europe and FITUR Cruises, while Hall 5 will focus on Spain alongside FITUR LGBTQ+ in Hall 9. This diverse representation will highlight the global nature of the tourism industry and its interconnectedness.

The Future Looks Bright

With the introduction of the Knowledge Hub, FITUR is set to redefine the landscape of tourism technology, ensuring the event not only highlights current trends but also sets the stage for future innovation. The fair’s commitment towards fostering knowledge in technology reinforces the importance of such advancements in driving the tourism sector forward.

FITUR 2026 promises an exceptional platform for exploring the latest trends and forming valuable connections, and will run from January 21 to 25 at IFEMA MADRID. The industry watches with anticipation as this hub is prepared to become a cornerstone of innovation in tourism.
