Thermos Supports FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '25 with Eco-Friendly Initiatives

Thermos Takes Center Stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '25

In an effort to promote a comfortable and environmentally friendly lifestyle, Thermos Co., Ltd. participated in the 2025 FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL held from July 25 to 27 at Naeba Ski Resort in Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture. As a global leader in vacuum bottle technology, Thermos set up booths at the festival, offering free water to attendees who brought their own bottles. Over the three days of the festival, Thermos provided approximately 1,550 liters of water, which equates to around 3,000 visitors when calculated at 500ml per person.

Event Overview

The FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL is renowned as one of Japan's largest outdoor music festivals, held annually with the theme of “Coexistence of Nature and Music.” This year's event featured numerous performances in a picturesque natural setting, drawing music lovers and eco-conscious individuals alike.

During the festival, Thermos also held a charity campaign at their booth. They introduced a ring toss game, constructed using leftover materials from the FUJI ROCK FOREST project. This initiative attracted more than 400 participants, creating a lively atmosphere. Attendees could win Thermos products and discount vouchers for using their own bottles at participating food vendors on-site.

Free Water Stations

To combat the summer heat, which saw temperatures exceeding 35°C, Thermos strategically set up water stations at two locations, including their booth and the ‘and tap CAFE’ in Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The presence of these stations was crucial, as many attendees brought their own bottles to stay hydrated. Thermos aimed to minimize single-use plastic waste by encouraging festival-goers to refill their own containers, strongly aligning with the festival's sustainability efforts.

Charity Campaign Success

The ring toss activity was a hit, with attendees eagerly participating and enjoying the excitement while contributing to a good cause. A portion of the participation fees collected from the ring toss was donated to the FUJI ROCK FOREST project, a collaboration that focuses on environmental preservation and community revitalization through sustainable forest management.

Special Edition Merchandise

In collaboration with the FUJI ROCK FOREST project, Thermos launched three limited-edition products: a vacuum insulated cup, a cold beverage bottle, and a portable mug. These exclusive items were available for purchase at the festival venue and online, showcasing the festival’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. By using their products, attendees not only embraced a sustainable lifestyle but also contributed to keeping the festival green.

Commitment to Sustainability

Thermos has been a supporter of the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL since 2023, sharing the festival's aspiration to become the “cleanest festival in the world.” Encouraging the use of personal drink containers promotes waste reduction and enhances the festival experience by merging fun with responsible behavior. Thermos hopes to set an example for both the entertainment industry and attendees, promoting a comfortable, convenient, and environmentally friendly way to enjoy music festivals.
